Oscar-winner Renée Zellweger has been part of the “Bridget Jones” film series as the titular character since 2001. While fans of the films believed them to be finished with 2016’s third entry, “Bridget Jones” series creator Helen Fielding confirmed another movie is on the way.
That’s right, we’re getting a 4th “Bridget Jones” movie, with new and returning cast members.

Zellweger is confirmed to reprise her role as Bridget Jones for the 4th film, “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.” Emmy nominee Hugh Grant (“Love Actually“) and Emma Thompson (“Saving Mr. Banks“) have also confirmed their return for the new movie. Grant will be returning as Daniel Cleaver and Thompson will reprise her role as Dr. Rawlings. They will be joined by new castmates Chiwetel Ejiofor (“12 Years a Slave“) and Leo Woodall (“The White Lotus“).
“Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy” will be directed by Michael Morris this go around. In this film, Bridget will be navigating motherhood and trying to find love…again. And this time she is joining the dating scene following a tragic death. This could be the reason why Dr. Rawlings is still in Bridget’s life following the birth of her child.
There is still no word on Ejiofor and Woodall’s roles will be in this film. Filming is scheduled to begin this year.
“Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy” should be coming to theaters in time for Valentine’s Day next year. If anyone needs any potential Valentine’s Day plans for next year, this movie will be your friend.
