20th Century Studios confirmed on April 6 that Lady Gaga and Doechii collaborated on a new song for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The announcement came alongside the release of the final trailer for the upcoming film. The song is called “Runway,” and it is already gaining traction.

The track features an upbeat dance rhythm and plays throughout the trailer. The new track’s name comes from the fictional fashion magazine at the center of The Devil Wears Prada films. It fits the world of the sequel naturally.

The trailer also gives audiences a clearer look at where the story is headed. The final trailer includes more details about Andy Sachs’ return to fashion magazine Runway, where she worked as a junior assistant years ago.

It opens with Amari (Simone Ashley), Miranda’s (Meryl Streep) new assistant, showing Andy (Anne Hathaway) to her new office at Runway. In another clip, Miranda tells Andy she was hired back to “help us with our current scandal.” Then clarifies she “did not hire” Andy personally, and all she needs to do is “bide my time until you fail.”

The sequel will follow Miranda Priestly, dealing with the decline of print journalism and attempting to find her footing in a dying industry. She also finds herself facing off against her former assistant (Emily Blunt). She is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising money that Priestly desperately needs.

On top of releasing the new song, Gaga is also set to make an appearance in the film. She shot her scenes amid her Mayhem Ball Tour last year. The Devil Wears Prada 2 marks her first big-screen appearance since Joker: Folie a Deux.

Though this is their first collaboration, Lady Gaga and Doechii, who was named Billboard Woman of the Year in 2025. They have previously expressed admiration for one another’s work. Gaga once told British Vogue, “The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision — it struck me to the core.” Doechii responded by saying, “I audibly gasped, literally. I’m the biggest Lady Gaga fan.”

Original director and writer David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna return alongside original stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. New cast members include Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, and Lucy Liu.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 arrives in theaters May 1. Check out the final trailer below:
