Things are really heating up in Pokémon GO this August with the arrival of three Ultra Unlock events. These events will be active for a week each and make rare Pokémon more common for players to find. Best of all, these events will be occurring back-to-back so players can look forward to the next Ultra Unlock event to begin as soon as one ends! The three Ultra Unlock Events are Dragon Week, Enigma Week and Unova Week.

    Ultra Unlock Event #1:

Dragon Week (July 31 at 1 PM PT- August 7 at 1 PM PT)

As the name implies, Dragon Week means players can expect to find dragon types far more frequently in the wild. Bagon, Trapinch, Dratini, Horsea, Swablu, Gible and Alolan Exeggutor will all be spawning throughout the week. Additionally, all of these above Pokemon except for Alolan Exeggutor will have the chance of hatching from 7 km eggs. Deino also has the chance of hatching from these eggs. All players who complete the week’s Timed Research quests will also encounter Deino. Extremely lucky players may even get the chance to catch a shiny Deino for themselves. If that’s not enough, Rayquaza will be returning to five-star raids for trainers to team up and capture.

    Ultra Unlock Event #2:

Enigma Week (August 7 at 1 PM PT- August 14 at 1 PM PT)

After you’ve caught all of your dragons, Enigma Week will sneak onto center stage. This event is all about the mysterious, fascinating Pokemon that make us wonder. You can find Baltoy, Solrock, Lunatone, Bronzor, Clefairy, Staryu, Jigglypuff and Elgyem more frequently in the wild. Additionally, players will need to keep an eye out for shiny Staryu. 7 km eggs will hatch Cleffa, Igglybuff, Lunatone, Solrock and Elgyem throughout the event. Meanwhile, Claydol, Bronzong and Unown U, L, T, R and A will be available in raid battles. Niantic must think they are clever. Mythical Deoxys will also be returning to raids and players may even discover shiny Normal Form Deoxys.

    Ultra Unlock Event #3:

Unova Week (August 14 at 1 PM PT- August 21 at 1 PM PT)

Finally, trainers will close out all of the August excitement with an event focusing on Pokémon from the Unova region. Throughout the week, players will discover Pokémon from “Pokémon Black and White” such as Cottonee and Sewaddle appearing more frequently in the wild. Players in or near New York City will get the chance to capture the Bison Pokémon Bouffalant. The shiny version of Roggenrola will be available for the lucky to discover. Finally, Genesect will move from EX raids to regular raids and a shiny version of it may also appear.
