Wait, Naughty Dog’s Next Game Isn’t “The Last of Us Part 3?”

Naughty Dog has produced some great PlayStation exclusives since it was founded in 1984. Hit games like the “Uncharted” series and “The Last of Us” have become largely popular among PlayStation owners. However, it has been 4 years since “The Last of Us Part II” released and fans have waited patiently. But they may be waiting even longer than we thought for the next chapter.

“The Last of Us Part II” Naughty Dog

According to X user @Silknight, Naughty Dog’s next game will be a NEW IP and not “The Last of Us Part III.” There has been no confirmation from the game studio at this time, so we’re taking this one with a grain of salt. Series creator Neil Druckmann did confirm that a third game is going to happen. He just needed to figure out where the story picks up from the last game. If it’s true that “The Last of Us Part III” is still not in full production, then Naughty Dog working a new game makes sense.

Both games in “The Last of Us” series were highly successful, despite some controversy with the story. Druckmann and Naughty Dog taking time to ensure the third game isn’t rushed out before it’s ready is a smart choice. There is always the possibility that PlayStation and HBO will pressure the team to pick up the pace. We just hope the team sticks with ironing out all the details for the game. No one wants a rushed third installment that flops compared to the other games.

If Naughty Dog is working on a new game for an entirely new IP, we are really curious about it. We will follow this story and report once we learn more about the new game. We will also report once more information about “The Last of Us Part III” becomes available.

You can catch season 1 of the hit series which stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey on MAX now.
