Our premise is this : It’s been three years since the disappearance of Batman and the Gotham Police have been overrun and outgunned. Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) is in charge of Crows Private Security, who’s militia like power protects the city( as we saw in the crossover). Years ago, one of his daughters and his first wife was killed in a crossfire resulting in him sending his other daughter , Kate Kane, Off – eventually marrying his securities bankroller Catherine Hamilton-Kate( Elizabeth Anweis).

When the Alice in Wonderland gang attacks the security firm, he kidnaps their best security office and ex-girlfriend of Kate, Sophie Moore ( Meagan Tandy) . It is then Kate has to use her skills to become the hero she needs to be.

The leader of the Alice In Wonderland Gang, Alice Played by Rachel Skarsten.

the Rest of the official synopsis goes as follows : With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary (Nicole Kang), and the crafty Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), the son of Wayne Enterprises’ tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman.

Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), and Kate Kane( Ruby Rose) standing in the batcave, while she discusses alterations to the suit so it can fit her.

Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice (Rachel Skarsten), who’s always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

The ending shot of the First Look Trailer.

Now While the CW has dug deep into Dc’s continuity, this is our first time seeing a vigilante in this universe who wears the Bat. Elements from the Batman Lore have been taken for other shows, whether it be motif, style, character or design, alot from the Batverse have been taken and adapted. The set up sticks to ” lone hero, backed up by a tech crew, goes to fight crime in a city that’s hesitant to accept them” motif and it’s a very safe place to start.

Kate Kane as she discovers the Batcave for the first time.

So It’ll be interesting to see what the touch from the mythos and what they don’t. The entire set up is focused on her ” coming into her own” story parallel to Gotham learning to accept a new protector. It’s going to be a clumsy and bumpy road, It’s expected to see that affecting the writing as well.

Kate Kane in a modified Batsuit, which she dawns in order to rescue Security Office( and Ex)
    Sophie Moore ( Meagan Tandy).

The Arrowverse shows have always mixed comic lore with their own ideas, so we now must wait and see what it has in store for the characters and for the fans.
Batwoman first appeared in the Fall 2018 Multi Cw show crossover ” Elseworlds” In which the shows holy trinity ( Flash, Supergirl and Arrow) have to visit Gotham and run into Kate Kane. The Batwoman Show will be a prequel to this event, showing how Kane became Batwoman. This show could possibly be taking the place of Cw’s Arrow, which is having its eighth and final season this fall.

Aside from this, Cw has also recently announced it’s next crossover, called “Crisis On Infinite Earths”. A event rumored to take over six hours, it’ll involve the shows : Batwoman, Arrow, Dc’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and The Flash.

What is your opinion on this ? Is it the right move for this network ? and What you like to see/ Not like to see in this new show ? Let us know down below !
