Zach is from sunny Los Angeles. He loves games, the culture around it, and the history. He also feels that Batman Vs Superman is a good movie and is unjustly hated.

Racial representation has been problematic in gaming for a while. While many backgrounds are misrepresented or underrepresented, this is especially the case for African-Americans. Growing up, I consistently saw black males portrayed as villains or ancillary and supportive roles for main characters. Black men were scarcely the main characters, and when they were the primary focus, they were the personification of some bizarre trope or stereotype. Zack from Dead or Alive was essentially a recreation of Dennis Rodman. He was an overly eccentric celebrity who came complete with bright clothing and an alien costume. Barret Wallace was an angry side…

I love video games. It is unquestionably the biggest and most enjoyable aspect of my life. With that said, I am not blind to all of the negative energy that permeates this industry. Deceptive marketing and predatory sales tactics are still a thing. With that said, Games Done Quick will consistently be the most delightful event in gaming for me. Games Done Quick is a week-long marathon of speedruns in a variety of ways and stipulations. There are two…

This, of course, was a nod to vanilla, or original, content. More specifically, this was referencing World of Warcraft’s vanilla content. With a decade-long history, WoW has become an incredibly different game than its original release. This is…

I have always looked at life a bit like a Role-Playing Game (RPG). You have your main quest, your side missions, and your character stats. When I started college, I realized that if I wanted to survive without burning out, I needed to treat it the same way. I could not just run into the boss room, final exams, without leveling up first. For me, the secret was not just working harder. It was about knowing my numbers. I am a data nerd at heart, and I found that tracking the right metrics made the difference between a stressful semester…

Finding yourself locked out of your home or car is one of life’s most stressful “distress purchases.” Whether it is a snapped key at 11:00 PM or a faulty uPVC mechanism on a rainy Monday morning, the urge to click the first result on Google and call immediately is high. However, in the UK, the locksmith industry is unregulated. This means anyone can buy a set of tools, create a professional-looking website, and call themselves a locksmith without any formal training or background checks. To ensure your home’s security isn’t compromised, you need to know how to separate the professional…
