Making their way to your ears are Joe Lo Truglio and Beth Dover, who star in season 2 of “The Bystanders” on Apple Podcasts. You may recognize Joe as Charles Boyle on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” or as a member of The State. Beth is likely most familiar as “Orange Is The New Black” senior MCC VP Linda Ferguson, or as a member of “Another Period.” The two play Dirk Pifler-Hyde and Alicia Hyde, a married couple. Not too much of a stretch of a role for the two as they’ve been married in real life since 2014. We chatted with them…

The latest Apple TV+ film, “Sharper’,” has several elements that could’ve made it a modern classic thriller. Yet somehow in spite of a killer cast including Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, Justice Smith, John Lithgow, and newer to the scene actress Briana Middleton, the film fails to find an edge. Directed by Benjamin Caron (“Andor,” “Sherlock,” “The Crown,”) and written by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka it’s not as if the film lacks pedigree both on screen and behind the camera. “Sharper” centers around a complicated web of con artists and affluent marks. Perhaps the greatest flaw is that it doesn’t trust…
