Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

If you’re using video games to help cope with the current state of the world, it’s ok! You’re not alone, and sometimes tuning out for a little bit will help your mental well-being in the long run. The game that’s being used the most for just this type of virtual escapism is “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” and we can’t think of a more calm way to spend a few hours. Today marks the first day of June, and that means a new crop of fish and bugs available in the game. ALSO, June means WEDDING SEASON! (Thanks to Polygon for…

It’s hard to imagine almost two years have already gone by since the fateful day word came down that Netflix had cancelled their “Marvel’s Daredevil” series as well as the other Defenders titles. It was a different time then, and we were all expecting the shows to go on for much longer than they did. As it turns out, today is another milestone for the Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Nofrio starring series about the Man Without Fear. According to Heroic Hollywood (who drew our attention to this fact, thanks guys!), the fan-run Save Daredevil Instagram account pointed out the particular relevance…

We are so thrilled to report that Wattpad WEBTOON Studios and The Jim Henson Company are developing a young adult animated series based on the highly popular web comic, “Lore Olympus” by Rachel Smythe. If you’ve never seen Smythe’s gorgeous and wonderfully written webcomic, head to WEBTOON and do so. The official synopsis of “Lore Olympus” reads: “Witness what the gods do…after dark. The friendships and the lies, the gossip and the wild parties, and of course, forbidden love. Because it turns out, the gods aren’t so different from us after all, especially when it comes to their problems. Stylish and…

Disney+ has announced plans for a sequel to 1993’s spoopy Halloween hit “Hocus Pocus,” with Adam Shankman (“Hairspray”) on board to direct. This of course was cause for GREAT excitement for fans of the feature film. Since then, we haven’t really heard anything new about it, other than Jen D’Angelo (“Workaholics” writer and co-producer) penning the script. The story will reportedly follow the witches as they try to acclimate to the 20th Century. They then discover — to their horror — that Halloween has become a holiday. The question arose about the possibility of the original cast returning, namely the three Sanderson…

It still seems like an odd film to develop a sequel for, but “Gladiator 2” is still being worked on, apparently. Sir Ridley Scott has been adamant that it would work, and that it’s something he wants to see happen. A sequel to the Oscar-winning Roman warrior film is something Scott has been trying to do for sometime, but it somehow couldn’t quite find its footing. There was that time in 2017 when music icon Nick Cave revealed his plans for a sequel, and Scott commented on that idea saying: “You know I can bring him back, I know how to bring him…

Filmmaker David Ayer is not afraid to defend his Warner Bros. Pictures movie “Suicide Squad.” We can’t really blame him, honestly, as the more he talks about it, the more it seems like the studio never trusted his vision for it.If you’ll recall in May of 2020, DC Comics fans were presented with the realization that yes, the much-rumored Snyder Cut of “Justice League” is a thing, and yes, we’d be seeing it eventually on HBO Max. This started all the conversations again about other director’s cuts seeing the light of day. Enter David Ayer, and his cut of “Suicide…
