Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Just in case you needed another giant freaking shark movie in your life, we’ve got some news on that front. We are indeed getting a second “The Meg” film, and Ben Wheatley will direct for Warner Bros. Pictures. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the most recent script was penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber, riffing off of Dean Georgaris’ original draft for the sequel. They all previously worked on “The Meg” together. Procers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Belle Avery are also reportedly returning. No official word on Jason Statham returning as Jonas Taylor, but early reports make it sound like its’…

Southern California residents and Disney enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting news of a possible reopening date for parts of the Disneyland park and resort for several months. Despite CA Governor Gavin Newsom’s most recent set of guidelines for various large-scale theme parks which would theoretically place Anaheim in a stricter-level tier (due to the high positive rate still happening in the county), Disney is deciding to open additional areas for guests. You can read the most recent set of reopening guidelines for California theme parks here. The Downtown Disney area has had several shops and restaurants open for a few…

Bless Facebook sidebar ads sometimes, because this was just too weird not to tell you guys about. A wooden tattoo machine, that holds a crayon, designed for kids and available from a few different sellers. This is not a new thing, apparently, as a simple Etsy search showcases several listings for “handmade” wooden tattoo machines for kids. Amazon of course has some options as well, but they’re more the high-gloss draw on your skin kind. (Although they do have actual working machines available too?)

Frak. Everything.Yeah….so I’m not mixing words with this one, because I saw “Dark Phoenix,” and know exactly what Simon Kinberg is NOT capable of when it comes to telling stories.According to Variety, Kinberg will be writing and producing the rebooted “Battlestar Galactica” film for Universal. “‘Battlestar Galactica’ is one of the holy grails in science fiction, and I couldn’t be more excited about bringing something new to the franchise, while honoring what’s made it so iconic and enduring,” Kinberg said in a statement. “I’m so grateful that Dylan and my partners at Universal have trusted me with this incredible universe.”I.…

This is such a good Spooky Season rumor, we honesty kind of hope it’s a real one. According to the usual sources, Tim Burton is currently shopping around a new live-action tv project to various studios, and it’s one our little black gothic hearts can’t get over- “The Addams Family!”Talk about a perfect project for the perfect filmmaker, right? Sources close to Deadline say that at present, there really isn’t any one studio favored for this possible show, but who would say no to this?No confirmations on if this is even a thing, but knowing Burton’s style and personal love…

It’s been a long, strange road for the feature film adaptation of popular video game series “Uncharted,” and we are very pleased to share the first image from the flick. Featuring Tom Holland as “Uncharted” protagonist Nathan Drake, this first photo certainly harkens to the look and feel of the character, as well as the franchise. Nolan North, who voiced Nathan Drake in the games, also shared some images from the set: Sounds like the production is continuing, even after Antonio Banderas had to take a leave of absence after contracting Covid-19.Sony has optimistically dated “Uncharted” for a July 16th,…

2020 has been absolutely awful, we can all agree on that, right? Perhaps one of the last bastions of joy and hope we had for this year of hell was Halloween, but of course due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic- that ain’t happening. But what about our Spooky Season traditions? What about the figures of Halloween? What about Michael Myers? We’d like to bring your attention to Youtube user Andrew Kasch, and his video showcasing what the heck Michael Myers is doing with himself in Haddonfield now that Halloween is officially cancelled this year. In this very short but very…

Lana. LANA!!!!!! We’re getting a 12th season of FX’s animated spy comedy series “Archer,” and that’s something to celebrate in an otherwise terrible year. One of the series premieres we’re looking forward to the most this year is Hulu’s upcoming revival of 90’s animated series “Animaniacs.” The first tease for the show was absolutely perfect, blending the Warner brothers and sister into the world of “Jurassic Park,” and the new trailer is pretty great too. Yes, the original voice cast is back, and so is executive producer Steven Spielberg. They’re back! The Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister Dot, have a great time wreaking havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. After returning to their beloved home, the…
