We are absolutely delighted to share the news that Brian K. Vaughan, who you might know best for his work on the beautiful and groundbreaking graphic novel Saga, has just landed the perfect gig. He’ll be tackling the classic science-fiction series “Buck Rogers” for a new television adaptation for Legendary TV, who won the rights to the property earlier this year. Thanks for sounding the alert, The Hollywood Reporter! Buck Rogers first appeared in the novella “Armageddon 2419 A.D.” in 1928, which was written by Philip Francis Nowlan. And of course, most fans know the character best from “Buck Rogers in…

We just thought you’d like to know someone is in the process of bidding on an ultra rare 1st edition Pokémon Charizard card, and it just reset the previous record for highest price for a pocket monsters card. It’s a 1999 Pokémon Charizard holographic first edition card, and at the time of this writing, it’s already up to $300,000. It still has two days to go, and considering it continues to climb in price, we could be seeing an even bigger number before the auction closes. You can keep an eye on the bidding on eBay here. The previous record…
The Game Awards are happening today, and maybe an entertprising social media person at Netflix jumped the gun on an announcement. Earlier this morning, the NX (official “What’s Next on Netflix” account) tweeted and deleted an image and information saying that a “Sonic The Hedgehog” series was coming to the streaming service. Obviously we don’t like just sharing screenshots, this was the url for the tweet, but it’s been deleted. Theoretically we’ll know more later today, and we’ll let you know what we hear.

This just in- Funimation has officially closed the deal to purchase anime giant Crunchyroll for a whopping $1.175 billion. AT&T, who owned Crunchyroll, started looking for buyers earlier this year, and Sony, who owns Funimation, was at the top of the list. Tony Goncalves, WarnerMedia’s chief revenue officer, said of the sale: “The Crunchyroll team has done an extraordinary job of not only growing the Crunchyroll brand but also building a passionate community of anime fans. Crunchyroll’s success is a direct result of the company’s culture and commitment to their fans. By combining with Funimation, they will continue to nurture…
Things you need to know about that are totally real and actually happening- a 6-episode, 20-minute series coming to Netflix starring Nicolas Cage, produced by Funny or Die (among others) called “History of Swear Words.”Bellamie Blackstone is showrunning, and Cage is….very Cage. An education in expletives: the history lesson you didn’t know you needed. History of Swear Words, hosted by Nicolas Cage, is a loud and proudly profane series that explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science and cultural impact of curse words. Through interviews with experts in etymology, pop culture, historians and entertainers, the six-episode series dives into the origins…
This is one of those times I’m sitting here scratching my head, because why in the WORLD would you want to reboot a show like HBO’s “True Blood?” It’s only been 6 years since the finale, which admittedly is one I’d like to forget I’ve seen, kind of like another notable HBO property based on a highly popular book series that diverged WILDLY from the source material.According to TVLine, that’s exactly what’s happening. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who created both The CW’s “Riverdale” and Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” is apparently heading a reboot of Charlaine Harris’s “The Southern Vampire Mysteries,” which is what HBO’s “True…
We look forward to seeing what BetGeorge does with his Christmas lights every single year, and are absolutely tickled that it just HAPPENS to be one of our favorite 80s tunes we recently wrote a big thing about; A-Ha’s “Take On Me!”If you’ll recall- Tracey, CA native BetGeorge outdoes himself every year by choreographing a fabulous home Christmas light show with a song. Previous years included Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” “Star Wars,” and more. This year’s choice of “Take On Me” is just brilliant, and we love it. If you missed our look at the iconic music video (and it’s history),…

While we’re still kind of miffed an addtional season of “Hannibal” still isn’t happening anytime soon, we are delighted that CBS’s upcoming “The Silence of the Lambs” offshoot series all about our favorite FBI agent, Clarice Starling, is looking pretty promising. The first teaser was released earlier today, and it’s got some beautiful iconography going on that’ll no doubt interest fans of the Thomas Harris literary character being brought to the small screen. This show is set to follow Agent Clarice Starling (played by Rebecca Breeds) one year after her encounter with Jame Gumb, aka Buffalo Bill, the central villain…
