Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Perhaps the greatest film ever told about rock n roll is getting an official sequel. We’re talking of course about the 1984 rockumentary about Britain’s loudest band, Spinal Tap. From director Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner), the classic spoof-but-with-actual-music tells the tale of David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tuffnel (Christopher Guest), Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), and a rotating cast of drummers who meet untimely ends.Guest stars include a very young (now SAG-AFTRA President) Fran Drechser, Paul Shaffer, Angelia Houston, Billy Crystal, Ed Begly Jr., and the late Fred Willard. In May of 2022, an honest-to-goodness sequel was announced, with the…

Mason Alexander Park, who played Desire in season 1 of Netflix’s “The Sandman,” has some pretty great news for fans! As we know, the show, based on the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman, was late in getting the renewal, despite overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and fans alike. It spent weeks in the top 10 for the streaming service, and it really seemed like a no-brainer for additional seasons. It took until November last year for Netflix to officially announce a season 2 pickup. But, its been a while since we’ve heard anything concrete about the show, despite Gaiman’s near…

News of Urban’s inclusion in the film came back in June of this year, from project producer Todd Garner. The update from Urban today is that production is moving right along, with filming continuing. Once in a generation it happens. Some enterprising soul hellbent on chaos decides to strip off all their clothing and streak at the Happiest Place on Earth. According to at least one X (formerly Twitter) user, this streaker shut down Its A Small World at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Further down in the thread, Ashley Esqueda posted video from inside the ride, which had unfortunately stopped, meaning everyone on boats were stuck in the never-ending hellscape that is Small World. Before we get into too many details, we want to start by saying maybe Oscar-winning filmmaker Emerald Fennel should read some more Chuck Tingle books. BECAUSE, and we’re not making this up- she reportedly wants to “get in on the dinosaurs,” and make something akin to an “erotic” “Jurassic Park.” Now, this could be…fine? At the very least, it’d be more interesting than the latest outings of “Jurassic World.” Considering Fennel’s body of work, including “Promising Young Woman,” and the currently-out-in-theaters “Saltburn.” It’s clear she has stories to tell. But…with dinosaurs? “My favorite film of all time is ‘Jurassic Park,’ so I would…
