Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

After getting to see some pretty great first look images at Prime Video’s upcoming series based on Bethesda’s highly popular “Fallout” video game series, we’re very pleased to share the official teaser trailer! “Fallout” is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them. “Westworld” co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa…

The release of Dr. George Miller’s next “Mad Max” film can’t come soon enough. I mean we’ll always wait for another chapter from the Wasteland, but, we’re just really excited for this one. Titled “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” it is a prequel of 2015’s absolutely incredible “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Telling the story of Imperator Furiosa (an Oscar worthy role originated by Charlize Theron), expect to see new locations and characters, but perhaps some familiar ones too. Anya Taylor-Joy was tapped to play the younger Furiosa, a move that both saddened and excited fans. We all kind of hoped…

If you haven’t watched “Jury Duty” yet, please do it! We hate to ruin the premise, but, one unsuspecting man goes in for what he thinks is just regular, civic duty of sitting on a jury. Everyone involved with ‘the case’ is an actor, except for that one man, whose name is Ronald Gladden. The charming everyman with a surprising heart of gold will absolutely renew your faith in humanity. It seems like he also got the attention of some powerful folks, as he’s just signed an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios to produce, develop, and star in projects.…

You know that thing where actors get typecast? We hate to see it happen with someone like Sebastian Stan, but in this case, a second character who may or may not be a puppet of Russia is exactly what’s happening. Stan, who brought the Winter Soldier to life for Marvel Studios, will be tackling an almost more villainous role, that of young Donald Trump. The picture is called “The Apprentice,” and will also star “Borat 2” breakout Maria Bakalova as young Ivanna, Trump’s first wife. “Succession” star Jeremy Strong will play Roy Cohn. “The Apprentice” is being developed by Iranian…

One of the ultimate live concert films, “Queen Rock Montreal” has gotten an epic remaster, and will be released for the first time in IMAX! This 4K remaster was apparently tailored specifically for the IMAX screen, complete with 12-channel surround sound, crystal-clear images, and customized theater geometry. “This larger-than-life, front-row immersive experience” consists of footage from a pair of Queen performances at Montreal’s Forum in 1981. “I don’t think we quite realized it at the time, but this film has preserved one of the highest peaks in Queen’s touring life, on stage in the old glory days,” guitarist Brian May said…

Oh yeah, a third “Sonic The Hedgehog” live-action film is in the works, and today, we got our first look at it. Kinda sorta. Sometime-divisive filmmaker Zack Snyder has another big film on the horizon. “Rebel Moon- Part One: Child of Fire” has all the trappings of a wannabe science-fiction epic, with the dark and brooding moody lighting we’ve come to expect from Snyder. The trailers show us a gritty intense setting, with some pretty beautiful costumes and visuals. We’re not gonna lie, we’re pretty interested in see it. But we can’t talk about Snyder without touching on his shepherding the DCEU at Warner Bros. Pictures. “Man of Steel,” the superhero film which reinvigorated live-action DC Comics adaptations, remains a tentpole of the genre.…
