This weekend, Dragon Con is taking place in Atlanta, GA. Even if you couldn’t make it to the annual Labor Day event, the organization offered a virtual option for fans this year. During Sunday’s “Star Trek: Discovery” panel, the gathered series stars fielded a question about whether or not they’d ever want to direct an episode of the Paramount+ show.Anthony Rapp, who plays Commander Paul Stamets on “DISCO,” responded that he absolutely wants to. He revealed a bit of his own film school past, and also said he’d been shadowing various directors on the series. One of which being “Star…

Production on Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming superhero sequel “Aquaman 2” is coming along, with the first look at new costumes released this morning. Filmmaker James Wan is directing the second outing for the King of Atlantis, and Jason Momoa will of course return to star. This morning, Momoa, who did not join his “Dune” cast mates at the Venice International Film Festival for the world premiere of the epic, shared the first look at Arthur Curry’s new duds for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” We really like the look of the new black suit. James Wan calls it the “stealth…
We are missing one of our favorite in-person fandom events this year, but thanks to technology, we can still experience some of it! Dragon Con, iconic Atlanta convention celebrating it’s 35th year, is happening right now. One of the unique things about this event- and no lie, there are MANY things- is the annual parade that happens Saturday morning. Imagine a major metropolitan city closing down some of their central downtown area to allow thousands of nerds and fans to gather and parade down the streets. That’s the Dragon Con parade! If you couldn’t make it to Atlanta this year, don’t worry!…
Dragon Con 2021 is upon us, and while the event is different this year, the cosplayers are still absolutely bringing it! As expected, the most popular costumes this year are certainly Loki variants from Disney+’s Marvel Studios series, “Loki.”I mean, it kinda helps that key scenes of the show were filmed inside one of the Dragon Con host hotels. The iconic (and beautiful!) Atlanta Marriott Marquis has been featured in several MCU projects now, as well as films and tv series throughout the verse. We digress. Friday morning, the various variants gathered on the Hilton back steps to participate in…
You know those times you come across an absolutely ridiculous video on YouTube, and you have to share it with others? That’s kind of where this after school special from 1987 comes in. “The Day My Kid Went Punk” originally aired on ABC on October 23rd, 1987. It stars Bernie Kopell, who played Dr. Adam Bricker on “The Love Boat” as the concerned father who’s teenage son decides to go punk. It’s….a thing. Enjoy.
Today marks a very special day for fans of Frank Herbert’s seminal work of science fiction, “Dune.” A new adaptation, from an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, with a star-studded cast and major studio behind it, is officially showing at the Venice Film Festival. This will be the world premiere, but the film did screen for members of the press and select persons earlier today. To sum up what we’re seeing so far, reviews for Denis Villenueve’s take on the desert planet of Arrakis and the families who war over it, have been fairly positive. Some, like Variety’s piece, come off as pompous…
We are absolutely delighted to share the news that Hans Zimmer’s “Dune” Sketchbook soundtrack album released this morning. The multi-Oscar winner previously announced 3 separate albums for the Denis Villneueve film were on the way. The film has it’s official world premiere today during the Venice Film Festival, so expect first reactions tonight. You can listen to the full hour plus of Zimmer’s “Dune” Sketchbook here: “Dune” is currently slated to hit theaters and HBO Max on October 22nd, 2021. If you haven’t joined HBO Max already, you can do so by clicking here and giving them a try. Note that NERDBOT…

This is one of those announcements we are just GIDDY over! Netflix has revealed a new anthology series is coming, with none other than Guillermo del Toro at the helm! We know there will be 8 episodes, and Netflix has already announced who’s involved with each. del Toro wrote an episode directed by Jennifer Kent (“The Babadook,” “The Nightingale”). It’ll star Essie Davis (“The Babadook”), Andrew Lincoln (“The Walking Dead,” “Penguin Bloom”) and Hannah Galway (“Sex/Life”). David S. Goyer wrote an episode (based on a short story by Michael Shea), directed by David Prior (“The Empty Man,” “AM1200”). It’ll star…
Earlier this morning, we were treated to a gift from Amazon Prime Video. The first teaser trailer for their upcoming epic fantasy series based on the “The Wheel of Time.” Robert Jordan’s work spans 14 massive tomes, which were later finished by Brandon Sanderson following Jordan’s passing. The series has been a favorite across the world since it’s first publishing in 1990, and could maybe be in the running to capture some of that forgotten “Game of Thrones” hype. If you missed the teaser, you can see it here. But we wanted to dive into some of the things we…
