Production on Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming superhero sequel “Aquaman 2” is coming along, with the first look at new costumes released this morning. We are missing one of our favorite in-person fandom events this year, but thanks to technology, we can still experience some of it! Dragon Con, iconic Atlanta convention celebrating it’s 35th year, is happening right now. Dragon Con 2021 is upon us, and while the event is different this year, the cosplayers are still absolutely bringing it! As expected, the most popular costumes this year are certainly Loki variants from Disney+’s Marvel Studios series, “Loki.”I mean, it kinda helps that key scenes of the show were filmed inside one of the Dragon Con host hotels. Today marks a very special day for fans of Frank Herbert’s seminal work of science fiction, “Dune.” A new adaptation, from an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, with a star-studded cast and major studio behind it, is officially showing at the Venice Film Festival. This will be the world premiere, but the film did screen for members of the press and select persons earlier today. We are absolutely delighted to share the news that Hans Zimmer’s “Dune” Sketchbook soundtrack album released this morning. The multi-Oscar winner previously announced 3 separate albums for the Denis Villneueve film were on the way. The film has it’s official world premiere today during the Venice Film Festival, so expect first reactions tonight. This just in- it would appear one of the notorious villains of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (and subsequent film “Star Trek: First Contact”) is making a return! The Borg Queen, first brought to life by Alice Krige in the Jonathan Frakes-directed Trek film, will show up in season 2 of “Star Trek: Picard!”According to TVline,  Annie Wersching (“24,” “The Vampire Diaries”) will be playing the part. We know there will be 8 episodes, and Netflix has already announced who’s involved with each. del Toro wrote an episode directed by Jennifer Kent (“The Babadook,” “The Nightingale”). Earlier this morning, we were treated to a gift from Amazon Prime Video. The first teaser trailer for their upcoming epic fantasy series based on the “The Wheel of Time.” Robert Jordan’s work spans 14 massive tomes, which were later finished by Brandon Sanderson following Jordan’s passing. The series has been a favorite across the world since it’s first publishing in 1990, and could maybe be in the running to capture some of that forgotten “Game of Thrones” hype.
