Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

We are sorry to say that one of our most anticipated films has been delayed. True, this is a project we weren’t expecting to see for some time, but any delay sucks. George Miller’s upcoming “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel film “Furiosa” won’t be releasing anytime soon.According to a new report, the Anya Taylor-Joy starring project will now bow sometime in 2024. Cameras were supposed to start rolling last month. Production is crawling along. While we don’t know much about “Furiosa” yet, we DO know that Chris Hemsworth and Yaha Abdul-Mateen II are also on board. There have been persistent rumors that the story…

This is a fairly strange bit of news. It would appear that Jim Gianopulos is leaving his position as Chairman and CEO of Paramount. His sudden departure means a new face in the role, Brian Robbins, who currently runs Nickelodeon. A Wall Street Journal report indicates Paramount as a studio may be looking to refocus. Obviously this week we saw the studio’s streaming service Paramount+ unveil more of their premiere franchise “Star Trek” tv plans, so we know that’ll remain an important focus. But, what about the film franchises?A look at the movie release calendar reveals a handful of titles…

Both Wilson and Dawson have been recently involved with other Disney+ projects, with “Loki” and “The Mandalorian,” respectively. Dawson’s Jedi Master “Ahsoka” character has her own series due out at a later date. If you can’t get enough…

Admittedly, this is not the 80s icon we were expecting to mount a return. Teddy Ruxpin, the huggable casettetape-playing bear, is making a comeback in a huge way. Production company DJ2 Entertainment, who recently saw success with their adaptations of popular video games, has acquired the rights for Ruxpin. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DJ2 is eyeing a live-action animated hybrid film, sorta kinda like their most recent release, “Sonic The Hedgehog” for Paramount Pictures. There are also plans for an animated series. In 1986, there was a cartoon series titled “The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin,” which you can actually…
