Maybe “Top Gun: Maverick’s” box office has been enough to prompt an announcement from Marvel Studios. We’re talking of course about the news “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” will be hitting Disney+ later this month. Sure, we knew that was likely to happen sometime this year. But mid-June, in the key weeks of summer blockbuster season, seems like an odd choice.The news was confirmed by official Marvel Studios’ and Disney+ social media accounts, along with the date. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” hits Disney+ on June 22nd, 2022.

The jury has come to a verdict in the defamation trial Johnny Depp brought against his now ex-wife, Amber Heard. We will be updating this live as the news breaks. At 12:02pm (PST), the verdict was expected to be read. But, the Judge ordered lawyers to retire to complete paperwork for compensatory damages. This means that at the very least, the jury has found defamation via unanimous vote. Sometimes, Hollywood the place is stranger than Hollywood the fiction. Such is the case with Warner Bros. Pictures, and their current changing of the guards. Toby Emmerich has stepped down as Chairman of the Warner Bros. Pictures Movie Group. The interesting thing is who is stepping in. The return of FOX’s reality dance competition series “So You Think You Can Dance” is barely three weeks old. We were not expecting to see a judge get fired after three weeks, but here we are. Last week, Disney+ “Star Wars” series “Obi Wan Kenobi” premiered to much aplomb. Fans the world over watched the first two episodes, and apparently, they set a new record. According to the House of Mouse’s streaming service, “Kenobi” is now the most watched original series to premiere there. The one and only Tom Hanks is heading back to the House of Mouse. We’ve known for sometime about Hanks’ involvement in one of two “Pinocchio” films. This one is yet-another Disney revisits a classic animated tale for an updated ‘live-action’ version. (The other is Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion animated version for Netflix.)
