Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

But, even those fans were happy to see early teases of things like Morpheus/Dream and his helm. “I cared very much about the physicality and image of…

Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is due later this year. Empire Magazine has been teasing fans this last week with new images and characters. This morning included a Harfoot (predecessors of Hobbits), and an iconic tower. The Harfoots are pretty much exactly like what we know to be Hobbits- short, feet with hair, obsessed with food- but they haven’t yet found the Shire, or called it home. “We’re a nomadic tribe, moving with the weather and the fertility of the crops. We have big caravans on wooden wheels and we’re very good…

We’re not sure how to tell you this, but Jared Leto may have just confirmed “Morbius 2.” This is frankly baffling, and we’re not sure what to do with this information. We’ll just let the Oscar winner tell you himself… Obviously that title is a joke, and the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme should dissuade anyone from thinking this is real. But. Stranger things have happened. Sony’s “Morbius” returns to theaters today.

Those pesky Rotten Tomatoes review bombers are back on their bs. Following Star Wars and star Ewan McGregor’s very public anti-bullying and anti-racist statements, the audience score for the new Disney+ series has plummeted. True, one could assume this is simply because the audience didn’t care for episode 3, but, we all know that’s not what’s happening here. “Kenobi” star Moses Ingram publicly shared the harassment and hate-filled messages and interactions she’s been getting from ‘fans.’ The official Star Wars social media accounts issued a statement, “There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t…

Disney+ shared some pretty big casting news today for their upcoming adaptation of Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” series. The show has already gotten its fair share of fan praise and ire in equal measures for casting. Praise, because lead Walker Scobell (“The Adam Project”) is much closer in age to Percy when we first meet him. Ire, because Leah Sava Jeffries will be playing Annabeth, and some fans are just plain racist. Today’s news includes some other pretty important characters, like Mrs. Dodds, who will be played by Megan Mullally (“Parks & Rec,” “Will & Grace”). Mrs. Dodds is Percy’s…pretty…

Maybe “Top Gun: Maverick’s” box office has been enough to prompt an announcement from Marvel Studios.
