In another blow to sexual assault survivors, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced it will not file charges against film producer David Guillod. Guillod has been accused of at least 15 sex crimes, committed on six different women, in the past two decades. Counts include rape, kidnap to rape, rape of a drugged victim, rape of an unconscious person, sexual penetration of an unconscious person, sexual penetration of an intoxicated person by a foreign object, sodomy, and more. Every year a new batch of entertainers is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In June, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced horror icon John Carpenter (“Halloween”) will be among the inductees. On March 16th, a group of South African scientists asked to be evacuated from a several-month-long study in Antarctica. Their pleas were due to concerns about a team member allegedly becoming physically violent. In 2001, “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” hit theaters about an intrepid group of explorers on a quest to find Atlantis. The animated film was a rare critical and commercial flop for Disney Studios but has since become a cult hit. Among this fandom is filmmaker Jonathan Munoz, who just released a really cool fan trailer of what a live-action adaptation might look like.
