In 1961, legendary rock band The Beach Boys formed in Hawthorne, California. In 1914, Paris, France held its first waiters’ race, a tradition that continued until 2010. After a 13-year hiatus, the Course Des Cafés event returned. Filmmaker Ryan Coogler (“Black Panther”) wants to know what it sounds like when doves cry. He is attached to produce a currently untitled jukebox musical of Prince songs for Universal Pictures. This particular project, based on the late musician has been kicking around since 2018, with a script by Bryan Edward Hill (“Zone 414”). Producers for the project include Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Troy Carter of Atom Factory, and Universal Music Publishing Group chair Jody Gerson. For years, the rumor mill has been churning about the possibility of NBC continuing its hit series “The Office.” Showrunner Greg Daniels recently confirmed he is working on a new series based in the world of Dunder Mifflin. And now he is tapping “Nathan for You” co-creator Michael Koman to help develop the project.
