Hi, I’m Ada. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

In 2016, the entertainment world suffered a devastating loss when the short-form video app Vine shut down. Now, Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter who killed Vine, is reviving the app as diVine. The new platform also promises no AI content.  diVine, will have access to 100,000 archived Vine videos, along with allowing users to make new six-second loops. As cool as that nostalgia bomb is, the real selling point here is the lack of AI content. Apps like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) often label content as AI-generated and allow it to post. diVine says when it flags this kind…

It’s been 7 whole years since “The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time” was released. Now, given that title, we all safely assumed there would be no more films about tornadoes welding sharks. We were wrong. The Asylum has announced a 7th installment to the franchise, “Sharknado Origins.”  Production on the new film is slated to begin later this year. Franchise staple Anthony Ferrante will be returning to direct. As the title implies, this film will take place before the first installment, released in 2013. It will center around teenage Finn and April, played by Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, respectively,…

Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced generative-AI short-form user-generated content would be coming to Disney+. Former Disney collaborator Dana Terrace is fighting back by encouraging fans to pirate her show “Owl House” rather than support AI. The series ran for three seasons on the streaming platform. “Unsubscribe from Disney+. Pirate Owl House. I don’t care. Fuck gen AI,” Terrace posted to X. Terrace is also credited on “Gravity Falls” alongside creator Alex Hirsch, who later worked on “Owl House.” She also directed several episodes of another popular show, “DuckTales.” Considering the massive backlash against generative AI, odds are Terrace…

Sports movies are a fertile subgenre even for the most niche competition, like ping pong. A24’s newest film, “Marty Supreme,” is a fictionalized biopic of ping pong champ Marty Reisman. The movie is directed by Josh Safdie (“Adam Sandler: Love You”) and stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Dune,” “A Complete Unknown”).  The upcoming film is co-written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, the same duo behind “Uncut Gems.” Set in the 1950s, the movie tells the story of Marty Mauser (Chalamet) as he pursues a rather lofty dream. The film’s trailer shows him going from a hardened hustler in New York…

About a year ago, there were rumblings about some huge news coming to the Roger Rabbit universe. It has now been confirmed that the character’s creator, Gary K. Wolf, has regained his copyright! A herculean task considering how notorious Disney is for not wanting to relinquish rights to characters. “I now have back the rights to all my characters, all my books,” Wolf told ImNotBad.com. “I can, basically, do my own Roger Rabbit projects.” He was able to regain the rights via the 35-Year Copyright Reversion Clause. Basically, the creator of a work can petition the Library of Congress to…
