On November 20th, several Disneyland guests were injured by a lamp post that fell on Main Street U.S.A in the Anaheim park. The post fell over due to high winds right before 8:30am, and struck 3 people in the process. An elderly woman was struck in the head, and had to be transported by Anaheim Fire and Rescue to the hospital. The two other people were treated at the scene and released, according to Anaheim Fire spokesperson Sgt. Jon McClintock. Brick Convention, the Greatest LEGO Fan Event on Earth, will be coming to Orange County, CA in 2024. This will be the first time the event, which has been dubbed OC Brick Convention, will take place in the county. There has been a spike in rumors about a possible fifth installment to Marvel Studios’ “Thor” franchise. While the speculation may or may not be true, we can confirm that Oscar-winning director Taika Waititi will not be involved. Waititi directed the two most recent films in the franchise,  “Thor: Ragnarok,” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.” While doing press for his new film “Next Goal Wins,” he was asked directly about “Thor 5.” “I wouldn’t know if that’s accurate,” Waititi said. “I know that I won’t be involved. I’m going to concentrate on these other films that I’ve signed on for.” …

20th Century Studios is giving horror fans a first look at “The First Omen,” a prequel to “The Omen” franchise. The original 1976 film starred Gregory Peck, and told the story of an American ambassador who believes his five-year-old son is the Antichrist. It spawned two sequels 1978’s “Damien: Omen II” and 1981’s “The Final Conflict,” along with a reboot in 2006. There was also A&E’s television series “Damien” in 2016, which ran for one season. Filmmaker Mike Flanagan’s (“Fall of the House of Usher”) love of Stephen King adaptations will continue with “The Life of Chuck,” which has just wrapped production. When Flanagan announced on X (formally Twitter) he also assured audiences that this would NOT be a horror movie. This is an understandable assumption given that King is considered the king of horror, and Flanagan has done plenty of projects in the genre. PUMA has just unveiled their new line based on the “Gremlins” films! While these new shoes are probably less high maintenance than a gremlin, you should probably still avoid puddles. These sneakers are PUMA’s All-Pro NITRO in an intentionally mismatched design. Featuring a Gizmo-inspired design on one shoe and a Stripe-inspired design on the other. Earlier this month a priceless piece of “Star Trek” history was found, a 3-foot model of the Starship Enterprise. While the piece is still pending authentication, it’s believed to be a prototype developed in 1964. This model helped develop the look of the groundbreaking sci-fi series, and it was used on screen several times during the original run of the show.  Until approximately 1977, “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry had possession of the Starship Enterprise model. Director Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) will no longer be directing Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.” Cretton joined the project last year, with the news being announced right after San Diego Comic-Con. Writer Jeff Loveness (“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”) wrote the first draft of the script, but has also left the project. “Kang Dynasty” reportedly was to center on Kang, a time-traveling villain with many variants across the multiverse. Actress María Gabriela de Faría (“Deadly Class”) will play villain Angela Spica (aka The Engineer) in James Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy.” The character first graced the pages of DC Comics in “The Authority” volume 1 issue #1 in 1999. The Engineer’s powers are the product of nanotechnology built into her body. De Faría will be starring alongside the previously announced David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
