Hi, I’m Amy. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

Late last week, rapper Snoop Dogg claimed he was giving up ‘smoke’. Considering his pot-centric persona and the request to “please respect my privacy at this time,” people assumed that he was kicking chronic to the curb. Turns out the whole thing was just a marketing stunt, and his love affair with Mary Jane continues.  The singer has revealed the whole thing was to announce a partnership with Solo Stove, a smokeless fire pit brand. “I love a good fire outside but the smoke was too much,” Snoop said. “Solo Stove fixed fire and took out the smoke. They changed…

The long-running “Planet of The Apes” franchise will be getting a new installment with “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes.” This upcoming film is directed by Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner”) from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison. Plot-wise, it will serve as a bridge between the Matt Reeves-directed prequel trilogy and original series from the 1970s. [Editor’s note: because other than the pretty impressive makeup from Tim Burton’s 2001 “Apes” film, we should all forget it happened.] But that’s not to say “Kingdom” is just filler to get from the point line…

While the speculation may or may not be true, we can confirm that Oscar-winning director Taika Waititi will not be involved. Filmmaker Mike Flanagan’s (“Fall of the House of Usher”) love of Stephen King adaptations will continue with “The Life of Chuck,” which has just wrapped production. When Flanagan announced on X (formally Twitter) he also assured audiences that this would NOT be a horror movie. This is an understandable assumption given that King is considered the king of horror, and Flanagan has done plenty of projects in the genre. King’s “Life of Chuck” comes from the 2020 anthology “If It Bleeds.” The tale is three separate stories linked together to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse. It begins…

PUMA has just unveiled their new line based on the “Gremlins” films! While these new shoes are probably less high maintenance than a gremlin, you should probably still avoid puddles. These shoes also have a fux-Mogwai fur tongue and two heads on the backsides. The soles of these sneakers are even done with a Gremlin-esque scratch mark pattern. Earlier this month a priceless piece of “Star Trek” history was found, a 3-foot model of the Starship Enterprise. While the piece is still pending authentication, it’s believed to be a prototype developed in 1964. This model helped develop the look of the groundbreaking sci-fi series, and it was used on screen several times during the original run of the show.  Until approximately 1977, “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry had possession of the Starship Enterprise model. The piece was loaned out for “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” and it has been missing ever since. Rod Roddenberry, son of true Trek royalty…
