Hi, I’m Amy. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

A nostalgia-inducing image of an abandoned Burger King restaurant has gone viral. Back in April, Jonathon Pruitt took a picture of a long-closed Burger King in a Delaware mall, untouched by time. The internet is now just marveling at his discovery.  This Burger King location was actually operational until 2009, according to the mall’s general manager. But it seems this location never updated to the chain’s more current styles. So the parquet flooring, angular wall adornments, and pastel-topped tables and chairs give off major 1980s and 1990s vibes.  “It’s unbelievable how a random photo I posted 2 months ago on…

Actor Butch Patrick played Eddie Munster on the original 1960’s show “The Munsters.” Director Rob Zombie confirmed via Instagram Patrick will be in the upcoming reboot, but not as Eddie. Patrick will be portraying the Tin Can Man. Like the return of the character, Zombo, this is another direct reference to the original show. The Tin Can Man is a robot that Eddie built for a science fair. When his machine is sabotaged it is up to grandpa (Al Lewis) to fix it. So Patrick will effectively be playing his own creation, and it doesn’t get more meta than that. …

An auction for moon dust-fed cockroach carcasses has been blocked by NASA, who claim the items are their property. This story really starts back in 1969, when astronauts brought back moon dust from the Apollo 11 mission. That lunar soil was fed to insects, fish, and other small creatures to study the effects. The cockroaches from this experiment ended up at the University of Minnesota, where entomologist Marion Brooks dissected and studied them. “I found no evidence of infectious agents,” Brooks told the Minneapolis Tribune in an interview from October of 1969. She saw no evidence that the moon material was…
