Ti West’s “MaXXXine” Gets New Trailer

A24 Films has just released a new trailer for the upcoming horror movie “MaXXXine!” This will be the final installment of Ti West‘s (“The Sacrament”) “X” trilogy starring Mia Goth (“Infinity Pool”) as the titular character.

“MaXXXine,” will center around our unhinged heroin moving to Los Angeles in 1985. There she continues to pursue her dreams of stardom while capitalizing on her now lucrative career in adult film. Except for this time, her pursuit of fame is derailed by a serial killer known as the Night Stalker.

    The Cast For “MaXXXine”

The cast includes Goth reprising her role as Maxine Minx, Michelle Monaghan (“The Family Plan”) and Bobby Cannavale (“Old Dads”) will play LAPD agents. Kevin Bacon (“The Toxic Avenger”) portrays a seedy private detective who knows about Maxine’s past. Elizabeth Debicki (“The Crown”) will play a legitimate film director, with Moses Sumney (“The Idol”) and Halsey (“Sing 2”) as her best friends. Giancarlo Esposito (“Megalopolis”) and Lily Collins (“Emily in Paris”) will also star in “MaXXXine.”

This new trailer focuses more on the meta aspects of this franchise opening with a fake trailer for “The Puritan II.” (A movie that looks a lot like A24’s “The Witch.”) The footage then gets a heavy dose of inspiration from the Giallo films that came out of Italy in the 1970s. As we see Maxine being stalked by someone we assume is the killer. Including a shot of a splash of bright red blood, a hallmark of the genre, across some VHS tapes.

West will be writing, directing, producing, and editing this final installment of the trilogy. Like he did previously on 2022’s  “X” and its prequel “Pearl.”

“MaXXXine” will hit theaters on July 5th. You can check out the newest trailer below:
