Buzz Lightyear may have stepped out of the toybox and into time and space, but there are still places he has yet to go. “Lightyear” hit theaters on June 17th, but didn’t exactly wrack up box office numbers. Perhaps in an attempt to try and get people onboard, it’s coming to Disney+ a bit sooner than we thought. A Pixar movie hitting Disney+ isn’t exactly unexpected. It would be bigger news one or more of their movies didn’t come to streaming. “Lightyear” was mired in “controversy” leading up to its release. For reasons kind of legitimate and largely ridiculous. Among…

When the phrase “not all heroes wear capes” is tossed around, it’s generally applied to those who have sworn a duty to help and serve but don’t wear the attire that you’d associate with a superhero. Sometimes it goes beyond that. Sometimes someone steps up to do something that isn’t even even remotely what their job is supposed to be. They act out of a sense of believing that this is the right thing to do, no matter who they are. On July 11th, that person is pizza delivery man Nicholas Bostic. 25 year-old Bostic works as a pizza delivery…
Tom Holland may be the current Spider-Man, but if some recent cameo appearances have taught us anything, it’s that Tobey Maguire’s webslinger still holds a place in the hearts of millions. So it’s in that spirit that we’re happy to report that the Sam Raimi trilogy of “Spider-Man” films is coming to Netflix. In even better news, you won’t have to wait that long for it to happen either! The first in the Raimi trilogy was released back in 2002 and did a LOT of business, $825 million-worth, roughly. Though its stars Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and Willem Dafoe were well…
There are a few names in the video game industry from yesteryear that still carry weight today. You’ve got Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, “Mortal Kombat” co-creator Ed Boon, and “DOOM” creator and co-founder of id Software, John Romero. While Boon and Miyamoto have remained prevalent in the public eye, Romero hasn’t. There are a number of reasons behind this. Perhaps the infamous Daikatana has something to do with it, but we’ll get to that later. Right now the important thing to know is that Romero is coming back. Returning to the genre that made him a superstar, the first person shooter.…
Candy manufacturer Mars Inc. is facing a lawsuit in California. Jenile Thames has filed, accusing Mars Inc. of having heightened levels of titanium dioxide (E171) in Skittles. The lawsuit alleges since this additive is also used in plastics, adhesives, and paint, it is unsafe in food. The molecules can supposedly damage a person’s organs and cause damage to their DNA, potentially resulting in numerous adverse health conditions including cancer. This is where things start to get complicated. Ttitanium dioxide being in Skittles is not in question. In fact, the additive is in a lot of different foods. There are also…
The enduring popularity of “The Office” (US version) has helped cement it as one of the most beloved sitcoms. With many legendary pieces of pop culture, the merchandising opportunities have not been lost on NBC/Universal or fans. And if there’s at least one other thing that die-hard fans enjoy, it’s a good LEGO set. Thanks to the LEGO Ideas website, these two worlds collided, and the end result is coming soon! The LEGO Ideas set based on “The Office” received enough support to be officially commissioned for development. Cut to nine months later, and we now know exactly what we’ll…
From thefts to lost pieces being discovered, to people throwing pastries at famous works- there’s never a dull moment in the world of art. Well, there probably are quite a few dull moments, just fewer than you’d expect. Look no further than Dutch master Vincent van Gogh. His work still resonates enough today to land him a firm place in the canon of Doctor Who! Almost 140 years after it’s creation, one of van Gogh’s painting had something quite unexpected behind it, in a very literal sense. van Gogh’s “Head of a Peasant Woman” was completed in 1885. In preparation…
As the new owner of Mint Mobile and a European football club, Ryan Reynolds is a busy man. He’s Deadpool, Detective Pikachu, a Free Guy, and that’s on top of being a dad. Does this guy even have a clue what’s going on? The “Clue” we’re referring to of course is the long-rumored remake of the cult classic. The original 1985 film starred an ensemble cast of comedic acting heavyweights. Where does the project stand now? Well, there’s some good bad news on that one. Let’s start with the good news first. A script is done! Screenwriters Rhett Reese and…
Few celebrities know as much about trying to bounce back from their own demons quite like Robert Downey Jr.. The rise, fall, and rise again of the “Iron Man” star is so well-known, it’s partly what made his portrayal of Tony Stark so perfect. RDJr’s past behavior, drug addictions, and run-ins with the law were a reliable source of celebrity news fodder throughout the 90s and early 2000s, costing him acting jobs and landing him behind bars. [If you haven’t seen David Letterman’s “My Next Guest” episode with RDJr, it’s on Netflix, and we HIGHLY suggest it.] Whether it was…
If you’re going to be doing something in public or for the public, learn to read the room. Take note of the crowd’s attitude, and ensure they’re staying with you. For example, making jokes during a eulogy might be a bad idea, unless the family and supporters wanted to remember a loved one with laughter.. One Florida amusement park seems to not understand this philosophy, because they’ve adding a target shooting game involving actual places in Orlando. ICON Park near Orlando, Florida has already been in the news this year for tragic reasons. 14-year old Tyre Sampson died after falling…
