Is there and food pairing more satisfying than a hot coffee and a doughnut? We think not. McDonald’s restaurants will be partnering with Krispy Kreme to sell their legendary doughnuts. Creating a sweet and convenient update to the fast food retailer’s menu.
The companies plan to roll out this new offering in select stores sometime later this year. Nationwide availability, at participating restaurants, is expected by the end of 2026.
McDonald’s will be offering three of the most popular Krispy Kreme flavors all day long. “The doughnuts will be delivered fresh every day to our restaurants,” Guillaume Huin, McDonald’s Senior Marketing Director who looks about what you’d expect him to look like, posted to X (formerly Twitter). “You will be able to buy just one or a box of 6 at breakfast and all day until selling out.”
Sounds like you want to get your fried dough fix earlier in the day as opposed to later on.
Flavors
The three flavors McDonald’s will offer includes:
- Original Glazed – A melt-in-your-mouth doughnut covered in Krispy Kreme’s signature glaze.
- Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles – A chocolatey twist on the Original Glazed, dipped in chocolate icing and covered in rainbow sprinkles.
- Chocolate Iced Kreme™ Filled – Made with a light, fluffy dough and filled with smooth Kreme. Before it is all dipped into chocolate icing.
This partnership is the result of a successful test run in 160 McDonald’s restaurants in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky areas. According to Krispy Kreme, consumer demand exceeded their expectations. So much so that these pilot restaurants will continue to serve doughnuts during the nationwide rollout.

“Since the launch of breakfast nearly 50 years ago, we’ve continued to offer new menu items, flavors and experiences that have made McDonald’s an irreplaceable part of fans’ morning routines,” Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, said. “This partnership is an exciting next step in that journey and a chance to unlock new business opportunities in the breakfast category and throughout the day. Our fans’ love for Krispy Kreme runs deep, and we can’t wait to make it even easier for them to satisfy their sweet tooth at McDonald’s restaurants across the country.”
This partnership will not only solidify McDonald’s as the king of fast food breakfasts. But it will also increase access to Krispy Kreme products. “The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town,’” said Josh Charlesworth, Krispy Kreme President and CEO. “Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme.”
We’ll keep you posted on when Krispy Kreme doughnuts may hit a McDonald’s near you.
