Florida Man Games Events: Evading Arrest, Cash Grab, and More

If you thought Florida couldn’t get any crazier, let us introduce you to the upcoming Florida Man Games. These mock Olympic games are centered around the social media sensation known as Florida Man. We aren’t sure if we should be excited or scared for the antics these games are sure to bring.

This competition will be “the most insane athletic showdown on Earth,” according to the games organizers. It is all meant in good fun as they poke fun at Florida’s reputation for having some of the craziest headlines. At this point who hasn’t seen a headline involving guns, drugs, booze, and reptiles and immediately thought “Florida Man?”

The Florida Man Games are being planned to happen in February 2024 in St. Augustine, Florida. Events will include the Evading Arrest Obstacle Course, Category 5 Cash Grab, and Beer Belly Wrestling. The obstacle course involves contestants hopping fences and running through yards, all while being chased by actual cops. In the Category 5 Cash Grab, contestants will attempt to grab as much cash as they can inside a wind-blowing booth. We don’t think we need to explain Beer Belly Wrestling, it sounds pretty self-explanatory.

“This isn’t just a competition; it’s a one-of-a-kind Floridian spectacle!” the games’ website reads. Looking it over, this whole event sounds even crazier that we imaged. Not only will there be a Mullet contest, but you can take pictures with alligators! To think if the cultural phenomenon of Florida Man didn’t gain traction in the last decade, we wouldn’t have this spectacle to look forward to. There are even two former stars from the 90s show “American Gladiator” that have agreed to serve as referees.

You can get your tickets to the Florida Man Games for $45 at the official website. The games themselves will happen on February 24th, 2024. We can’t wait to see the headlines that come from this.
