Much like Dr. Dre, far too many of us have forgotten about McDonald’s purple mascot, Grimace. So to correct that, the fast food giant is throwing him a birthday party! Starting June 12th,  customers can celebrate Ronald McDonald’s big fuzzy friend.

“Our fans have amazing childhood memories of their birthdays at McDonald’s…and Grimace’s Birthday is all about paying homage to the amazing, fun moments we all share,” Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA, said. “We’re excited to put a modern spin on these memories to continue to drive McDonald’s relevance with a new generation. Grimace is the perfect lovable icon to have McDonald’s meet our fans at the intersection of nostalgia and culture.”

The celebration starts with the launch of the Grimace Birthday Meal featuring, the choice of a Big Mac® or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets®, and World Famous Fries®. Plus you can wash that all down with a limited-edition purple shake inspired by Grimace’s iconic color and sweetness. The meal and shake are available at participating restaurants nationwide, while supplies last starting on June 12th. You can find them on the McDonald’s App, drive-thru, McDelivery, or in-restaurant.

But what’s a birthday party without games? On June 12th McDonald’s will launch an exclusive video game made in collaboration with Krool Toys®. Players can immerse themselves in Grimace’s world as he races around classic McDonald’s birthday scenes to find his pals, like Birdie and Hamburglar. While on a quest to cut his birthday cake. The game will be free to play here on desktop and mobile.

Now that we have food and games covered, it’s time to plan our outfits for the occasion. McDonald’s will be offering a new line of Grimace-inspired merch like t-shirts and socks. The new apparel line will also drop on June 12th via their website and are available while supplies last.

For those that want to give gifts, it’s really the least we can do to make up for all these missed birthdays. Grimce asks that fans donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). From June 13 – 14, you can visit McDonald’s Instagram and share a picture of their favorite birthday memory via the “add yours” sticker. For every photo shared, McDonald’s will donate $5 to RMHC up to $200k.
