Chet Hanks is Stuck in Colombia – The World Weeps

The old adage states, “the fruit doesn’t fall very far from the tree.” Oftentimes, that’s true, but there are always exceptions to that rule. Now, that might not be fair to people like Chet Hanks, son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, because no one should feel obligated to be like their parents. Everyone is entitled to live their own life and be their own person. But when that own person goes on anti-vaccination rants and releases a hip-hop track called “White Boy Summer,” you open yourself up to some criticism.

We don’t know what Chet Hanks’ life is like, but we do know he’s currently stuck in Colombia.

    Chet’s Holiday in Colombia

The younger Hanks man is a guy who has seen his fair share of troubles. He has expressed issues with sobriety in the past that he’s working on, but he’s still a bit of a party animal. That’s why Chet went to Puerto Rico to attend his “homie Max’s birthday.” At some point in time, though, Chet left Puerto Rico to head to Colombia. Or as Chet puts it, “Why don’t I go pull up on my homie Taylor, who lives in Medellin?”

Perhaps you think that the problem arose from his repeated calling of people, “homie.” Or maybe the problem came from using the phrase, “go pull up on.” But you’d be wrong; the problem comes from an expired passport.

Somewhere along the line in his travels, Chet’s passport expired, which isn’t helping him get back into the United States. Now, this is something that could potentially be resolved if Chet would go to the American embassy in Bogota, but he doesn’t seem to want to do that. In his own words, “I don’t want to go to Bogota, so, yeah, free me. You know what I’m saying: Free me.”

Actually, Chet, we don’t know what you’re saying. You literally just have to go to the embassy. GO. TO. THE. EMBASSY!

There’s something truly absurd about this situation, but instead of continuing to just pile on Chet Hanks, let’s take this in a more informational direction and note the importance of understanding documentation. Make sure you check your identification to see if it’s up to date. Additionally, if you’re going to change your travel plans to go to a location you didn’t originally intend, you need to know what the laws are regarding entry and exit from that country to your home nation. This is even more important given what’s happening with travel restrictions being imposed by the Trump Administration.

Oh, and also, if you have issues in another country, like Chet Hanks is having, just go to the damn embassy.
