Fast food giant Arby’s is closing the year by adding two new limited-time items to the menu. They’re also bringing back their classic White Cheddar Mac ‘N Cheese. Which, while simple, is always a hit with Arby’s diehard fans. It’s even possible these items may become permanent fixtures on Arby’s vegan options.
But this year they are also adding a Loaded Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac ‘N Cheese. Which is the white cheddar mac ‘n cheese topped with chopped chicken nuggets, bacon, and parmesan peppercorn ranch sauce. This dish got a wider release after successful taste tests earlier this year.
The second new item is a Spicy Roast Beef sandwich, which is a middle ground between the roast beef Arby’s staked its name on and their Diablo Dare sandwiches. It is made of thinly sliced roast beef served with lettuce, diced jalapenos, fiery seasoning, and spicy mayo sauce. All served on a toasted sesame seed roll.
It seems like Arby’s is making all its limited edition menu items work overtime, since the Diablo Dare lineup is also a limited-release item that keeps coming back. This Diablo Dare sandwiches are available in both Chicken and Brisket varieties. Each features the same fiery seasoning as the new roast beef, plus spicy BBQ, and Ghost Pepper cheese. All served between a red chipotle bun.
The company believes the Diablo Dare line may be the spiciest fast-food sandwiches on the market. “We Diablo Dare you to try this new sandwich,” said Arby’s chief marketer Patrick Schwing in a press release. “This is not a sandwich for the faint of heart. Everyone in QSR says they have a spicy option, but our research tells us that consumers are disappointed by fast food claims of spicy. We took that as a challenge by making sure all different types of spicy –the hot, the numbing, and the lingering are combined to make the Diablo Dare a true test of how much heat you can handle. Arby’s is setting a new standard of spice –when we say it, we mean it.”
And apparently, it’s working since the Diablo Dare has been offered twice for a limited time. The same goes for their White Cheddar Mac ‘N Cheese. It’s even possible these items may become permanent fixtures on Arby’s menu. Or at least they may become recurrent seasonal offerings like many other chains offer. With all the recent shakeups to Arby’s menu only time will tell what the chain will decide.
