Things are moving along for Villeneuve’s Dune remake. Production should begin in April or May (previously anticipated to start in February), which means casting needs to be completed soon. It is mainly the supporting cast that needs to be nailed down, and previously we had mentioned the casting of Dave Bautista as Glossu “Beast” Rabban.
Now comes the latest casting news with Taiwanese actor Chang Chen in talks to play Dr. Wellington Yueh, physician to House Atreides. Chen is perhaps most known for his role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
This puts the cast for the Dune reboot so far as follows: Oscar Isaac (Duke Leto Atreides); Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho); Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck); Zendaya (Chani [rumored]), Timothee Chalamet (Paul Atreides); Dave Bautista (Beast Rabban); Javier Bardem (Stilgar); Stellan Skarsgard (Baron Harkonnen); Charlotte Rampling (Reverand Mother Mohiam); David Dastmalchian (Piter De Vries); and Chen Chang (Dr. Yueh)
Dune is slated for a November 2020 release.
