I try not to freak out about celebrities but the latest news has me gleaming. I have about three things that I will guarantee to make me smile and be giddy like a school girl. 1. Batman, 2. Sailor Moon, 3. Captain Marvel.
I distinctly remember (being a child of early 90’s late 80’s) watching Batman after school at 4pm and Sailor Moon early in the morning on UPN Channel 13 at 7am. And when Sailor Moon was released on Toonami, well I was in heaven. Little did I know that my favorite heroine was watching alongside with me. I’m talking about Brie Larsen.
Recently in an interview with Buzzfeed, Brie talked about how her role model was her mother and how she loved the Spice Girls and Sailor Moon. To think I couldn’t love her any more, she mentions the Spice Girls AND Sailor Moon.
If you don’t know Sailor Moon, it was created by Naoko Takeuchi. It teaches friendship, girl power, and love. All relevant themes in Captain Marvel. Knowing that these two universes tie together even in a small way is amazing. Brie I love you so much right now and to think I have something in common with you puts me on cloud 9.
Did you watch Sailor Moon as a kid? Have you seen Captain Marvel yet? Tell us in the comments!
