Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

After months- wait, YEARS of complaining about living and doing business in California, Elon Musk has had enough. He has vowed to move the headquarters of social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and SpaceX from California to Texas. X’s main offices will move from San Francisco to Austin, and SpaceX from Hawthorne to Starbase, TX.This move was prompted by Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) signing a new law that bars school districts in CA from notifying parents of a child’s gender identification change. We’re not making that up- that’s the actual reason Musk gave. It’s worth noting that Musk shares a…

The line is to celebrate the 30th (I’m sorry, WHAT?!) anniversary of seminal NIN album, “The Downward Spiral.” “This collaboration just makes so much sense,” John Crawford, NIN’s creative director, said. “Not just because of the countless fans I’ve seen wearing Dr. Martens at NIN concerts over the years (myself included), but because…

We just wanted to take a minute to remember the late great Shelley Duvall. While she is probably best known as Jack’s tortured wife Wendy in Stanley Kubrick’s seminal “The Shining,” she was also a pioneer of children’s television. We say this because a lot of people have never heard of, let alone seen, any episodes of “Shelley Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theatre.” The 27-episode anthology series first premiered in 1982, and ran for 6 seasons. Every episode would begin with Duvall introducing herself, and giving a brief synopsis of the classic fairy tale the episode would be telling. The truly…

If there’s anyone who should be allowed to complain about uses of symbols from their works, it’s George R. R. Martin (GRRM). Specifically, the use of the wrong sigil for House Targaryen in HBO’s “House of the Dragon.” Here we have the Targaryen house sigil from “Game of Thrones” on the left, and the “House of the Dragon” version on the right. If you look closely, the left has one distinct curl in it’s tail, while the right has two. Likewise, the left side has two legs, but the right has four. This was enough of a difference to make…
