There should be more love for Andrew McCarthy’s new documentary, “Brats.” Most of what I’m seeing about the docu is…disappointing. People complaining it isn’t the light, fluffy, slightly pointless featurette style retrospective we see so often. Instead, it’s an honest and heartfelt surface dive of someone who lived through a media-caused career shift. Don’t get me wrong, there is a big hit of 80s nostalgia, too. You’ll have that Leo-pointing-at-the-TV moment more than once. So if that’s an important thing for you, you’ll be fine. This just in- “Star Trek: Picard” showrunner Terry Matalas has his next project all lined up. It’s yet another title with some sci-fi clout, the 1985 cult-classic film “Enemy Mine.” According to reports, the project will be for 20th Century Studios,  and Matalas will write the script. No director or cast has been revealed yet. “Enemy Mine” was based on the Nebula Award-winning novella by Barry B. Longyear, first published in 1979. *sigh*Another day, another setback for Marvel Studios’ STILL NOT DONE YET “Blade” movie. According to multiple reports, director Yann Demange (“Lovecraft Country”) is no longer attached to the film. It was an amicable split, that apparently happened “sometime ago.” This is the second helmer the film has shed, as original director Bassam Tariq left in 2022. No word on who may replace Demange. The live-action Netflix adaptation of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” is headed towards season 2, full steam ahead. While we’ve already met the main cast of gaANG, one major member was missing.
