[Editor’s note: This piece about “The Beastmaster” comes to us from Anders Scot Hudson, cultural authority and resident Old-Man-Yells-At-Cloud on several subjects across the known universe.]For those of us who are about to, or have crossed the silver border into the age of 50, we almost all have a clear nostalgia for the golden age of sword and sorcery films. From household names like “Conan the Barbarian” to lesser know titles like “Barbarian Queen” and “Hawk the Slayer-” these titles immediately bring in a flood of memories. They were inspiration for our first edition D&D campaigns, the epic soundtracks to…

This just in-sounds like we haven’t seen the last of Ben Affleck’s Batman yet, as a new report claims the actor will don the cowl for another outing as the Dark Knight in the upcoming “The Flash” film. According to Vanity Fair, Affleck will return to the role for the upcoming “The Flash” solo film, which will also see Michael Keaton reprise his version of Batman. This of course led us all to believe that meant the storyline would theoretically follow the “Flashpoint” comics. This, as it turns out, is totally accurate. Also, you know, “Welcome to the Multiverse.” Andy Muschietti,…
This just in-The long-rumored film about Kraven the Hunter just took a big step forward with director J.C. Chandor reportedly in the hot seat. “The Equalizer” scribe Richard Wenk wrote the script along with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad are producing.Sony’s upcoming Spider-verse films “Morbius” and “Venom: Let Their Be Carnage” have both been delayed from their original release dates to 2021.Kraven of course is an important character in the Spider-Man canon, and we’re certainly curious to see what type of actor will get the role. There have been rumors recently that Sony was looking…
This just in- “Justice League” star Ray Fisher has just revealed that WarnerMedia has brought in a third-party investigation into allegations of a toxic and abusive work environment on the set of reshoots for the Warner Bros. Today, Fisher shared the news of the investigation in a series of tweets: As you can see from the above tweets, Fisher alleges that Geoff…
We’re not gonna lie- Robert Eggers’ upcoming film “The Northman” has us VERY interested. The project begun filming in Belfast, Ireland. Icelandic poet and novelist Sjón Sigurdsson co-wrote the script with Eggers. Considering the previous credits to Eggers’ name- “The VVitch,” “The Lighthouse,”- we have nothing but faith in the Viking tale.”There’s many locations in the film, so we…

This just in- Sounds like Sony’s Spider-Man slate may have just picked Olivia Wilde to direct that possible Spider-Woman project we keep hearing rumblings of. We know for sure that Wilde is tapped to direct and co-write a Marvel Comics based film, but we’re not sure on who it’ll be yet.Wilde recently directed the fabulous 2019 film “Booksmart,” which starred Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Jessica Williams, and Wilde’s husband Jason Sudeikis.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilde would be co-writing the script with Katie Silberman (who co-wrote “Booksmart”). We’re still not over just how bad the final two seasons of HBO’s landmark high fantasy series “Game of Thrones” were. Admittedly, we knew back in season 3 that things were taking a serious turn from the source material, and that things weren’t gonna be as expected. That’s not a bad thing, but the team of David Benioff and Dan Weiss sort of…stopped trying to make it coherent, or even passably good. Even the level of sheer entertainment value that a show of this level SHOULD present to fans fell off so steeply, it was like the writers gave up at…
