Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Fans the world over are still in a state of shock after the passing of Chadwick Boseman. The highly acclaimed actor passed away in September of 2020 after losing his battle with cancer, a fight which was kept as a very closely guarded secret. A question soon arose about whether or not the already-announced Marvel Studios “Black Panther” sequel would possibly recast Chadwick’s role as King T’Challa following Boseman’s death. How would Disney and Marvel Studios handle such a loss? Would they go full “Star Wars,” and CGI skin their star, or repurpose unused footage to tell the next chapter…

Sounds like fans of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth needn’t worry about the state of their red and black clad antihero joining the Disney side of Marvel. If you’ll recall, with the wholesale purchase of Fox and it’s holdings, Disney also brought home the majority (minus Spider-Man and a few others) of the Marvel Comics characters, and plans to include them in future Marvel Cinematic Universe releases. Like “Deadpool 3,” apparently. Following yesterday’s press day for Disney+ MCU series “WandaVison,” there were assurances given by Kevin Feige that not only will “Deadpool 3” fix directly into the…

We have to say, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has come a long way in his willingness to speak out against his own political party. He has always been very vocal about his feelings for the current sitting president, and in a new video released this morning, compares much of the current term to some pretty heavy stuff from his home country’s past. Schwarzenegger compares the traitorous U.S. Capitol Building insurrection this past week to the Nazi assault of Kristallnacht in 1938 Germany. He calls calls Trump a failed leader, and mixes no words about what happened being a failed…

We do NOT advocate doxxing, so please don’t take it that our coverage of something a well-known actor has done as support. That said- the phone number of Ted Cruz that “The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal tweeted is actually his direct senate line. The Senator from Texas, like all publicly-elected lawmakers, has a phone number with an answering service attached to it so constituents can let their opinions be known. This apparently stems from a Twitter spat between the two, steming from Cruz’s tweet about not liking Pascal’s performance in “Wonder Woman 1984.” And, you know, the insurrection Cruz helped fuel…

If there’s one thing we certainly can’t discount in 2021, it’s the rising of some of those delightfully chaotic elder gods and possibly even Cthulhu. Imagine the octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind showing up at your house for a dinner party. If you invite an elder god to dinner, he’s gonna need some souls to munch on. But also, a pretty bitchin’ candelabra to honor him. Like one of these ones? Order that one here. This guy is slightly more “20,000 Leagues…

Friday, January 8th 2021 marks the airing of the final episode of long-running and respected television gameshow host Alex Trebek, who sadly lost his very pubic battle with pancreatic cancer in 2020. We knew the celebrated personality had been able to record multiple episodes before he needed to step away from the production, and the final of those airs tonight (unless the continual news cycle bumps it). This brings us to a wonderful memory of a prank that Trebek pulled during a Tournament of Champions episode back in 2005, where the host came out for the show’s kickoff not wearing…

We’re still pretty excited that a sequel to Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” is actually happening, and any updates we get about it are most welcome. The original film’s stars are reportedly coming back- Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Doug Jones, and Kathy Najimy- and Adam Shankman is directing. In a recent visit to The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM, Najimy (who played vacuum-riding witch Mary Sanderson) gave a semi update on how things are going with the upcoming film. “Sarah [Jessica Parker] and Bette [Midler] and I had like a couple of weeks on the phone talking about the script, and that…
