Maybe this isn’t the biggest or most important news, but Netflix is bringing back a show with ties to the current unlawful Russian invasion of Ukraine. This just in- Alexandra Daddario (“White Lotus,” “Why Women Kill”) has been cast to take on the role of Anne Rice’s character Rowan Mayfair. Hailing from The Mayfair Witches stories, Rowan is a gifted surgeon, as well as a powerful witch unaware of her family history. AMC greenlit the series mere days before Rice passed away in 2021. Marvel Studios, pinnacle of superhero films, have taken a very public stand. Following a month of discourse around parent company Disney’s political contributions, the entertainment giant has their own statement. Namely, Disney has come under fire for their large financial contributions to lawmakers who wrote, sponsored and support Florida’s nefarious “Don’t Say Gay’ bill, as well as voter suppression laws and other hot topic issues. We’re not even a week since Spring Forward and the return of Daylight Savings. Seriously. Most people’s clocks aren’t even adjusted yet, amiright?
