Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

This just in-looks like newly minted Twitter CEO Elon Musk is having a bad day. After firing a VERY LARGE portion of the company this morning, there’s apparently an issue with his Twitter account. As of 10am (PST), his account has been suspended. Looks like a large group of disgruntled former Twitter employees have also filed a class action lawsuit against Musk. The suit alleges Musk broke federal and California state law by not giving enough notice for mass layoffs. (Which is true- legally, Twitter needed to give 60 days notice for large-scale layoffs.) As of 10:17am (PST), his account is…

Every so often, you read an interview with the creatives behind a favorite thing that leaves you scratching your head. This is kind of how we feel after the recent delve into The Russo Brothers’ (Joe and Anthony) upcoming live-action “Hercules” for Disney. The pair have brought Marvel Studios some it the biggest box office hits in history, and are in the process of adapting a modern animated classic. On paper, this is an…interesting notion. Considering how many episodes of “Community” the Russos helmed and their proven track record with humor, and Guy Ritchie directing, this could be a pretty…

Seems like we’re doing a lot of talking about Marvel Studios and their “WandaVision” spinoffs. We’re getting two series, “Vision Quest” focusing on Vision (Paul Bettany), and “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” focusing on powerful witch Agatha (Kathryn Hahn). As it turns out, one of our favorite zany character actors is joining the later series- Aubrey Plaza! While you probably know her best as April from NBC’s “Parks and Rec,” we love her turn as Lenny on FX’s “Legion,” and as Fernanda in “The Little Hours.” She also joined HBO’s popular “The White Lotus.” Okay and also her children’s book “Legend…

This just in-Netflix has FINALLY renewed “The Sandman” for a second season! The official DC Comics Twitter account accidentally posted the news early. The now-deleted tweet read: “The dream continues. [The Sandman] will return with new episodes based on multiple volumes of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel to explore even more stories of the Endless.”We’re waiting for Netflix to post their customary witty confirmation, but source material author Neil Gaiman has been very adamant this last week that the series had not, as previously reported, been cancelled. Ah yes, there we are. Confirmed!

Fandom can bring families together. Think of the stories you hear of “Star Trek” or “Star Wars” being the catalyst of parents bonding with their children. Or classic video game play-throughs being a holiday tradition. So, why not the modern classic, “God of War?” Ben Stiller and his son Quin (17) take that to heart in a new commercial featuring the filmmaker instructing fellow celebs how to play the Santa Monica Studios title. John Travolta and his Ella are joined by LeBron James and his son Bronny for the PSA. “God of War: Ragnarök” features the return of Christopher Judge…

The news from the Continent was strange last week. Netflix’s hit adaptation of “The Witcher” announced some big casting changes. Series star Henry Cavill is leaving the role of Geralt of Rivia, and will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth. Fans were quick to bemoan the choice, questioning if the possible creative choices of producers, directors, and writers were at fault. Cavill, who is a self-professed uberfan of the source material (books, games), knows the world and the characters. So, was THAT the reason? The most likely reason comes with the confirmation (thanks to “Black Adam”) that Cavill will indeed be…

Marvel Studios is really going all-in on “WandaVision.” The Marvel Studios series stared Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany as their Avengers characters Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and opened a whole new world of the MCU. Kathryn Hahn was introduced as a nosy neighbor, who just HAPPENED to be very powerful witch, Agatha. Following the popularity and success of “WandaVision,” a spinoff focusing on Hahn’s character, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” was announced. Turns out, it’s not the only show we’re getting! “Vision Quest,” which takes it’s name from a Marvel Comic title of the same name, will theoretically follow Vision as…
