Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

It is very likely we’ll be seeing the return of filmmaker Zack Snyder to DC films. Or should we say, his addition to DC Studios, the newly launched DC Comics arm of Warner Bros. Pictures, co-headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Early this morning, “Man of Steel” and “Justice League” helmer Snyder teased something big. A “message from Lord Darkseid” is apparently coming April 28th-30th. Combined with the hashtag “full circle,” this could mean anything. Another Snyder film? Another cut of another Snyder film? And more Darkseid?? “Created by the great Jack Kirby, Darkseid is one of the biggest…

Are there any DC Comics characters who AREN’T getting their own project or worked into something? [Don’t say “Batgirl,” too soon, too soon.] Turns out a tried and true favorite character may be returning, at least in animated form. While answering questions on Twitter, DC Films co-CEO James Gunn kinda sorta said an animated Wonder Woman something is in the works. Obviously that’s a short and sweet answer, but, we’re here for it. Several comic creators jumped into the thread, including Jimmy Palmiotti, who reminded us of the run he and Amanda Conner did. AND, our favorite, Gail Simone. YES…

Ok, first and foremost- while this juicy headline makes a lot of sense, there is no PROOF it’s a thing. Yet. We say yet, because there is every possibility it does end up happening. Jenna Ortega, star of Netflix’s hit series “Wednesday,” may (or may not) be joining the ever-long-gestating “Beetlejuice 2” film. Rumors of a followup film based on Tim Burton’s 1988 classic “Beetlejuice” starring Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Winnona Rider, Catherine O’Hara, and Alec Baldwin pop up every 6 months or so. But so far, nothing concrete has happened. That said, with the success of “Wednesday,” which Burton…

This just in-Some big news from the “Star Wars” universe. Sounds like Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige’s galaxy far, far away film, as well as Patty Jenkins’ gestating “Rogue Squadron” films have both been axed. The report, from Variety, also indicates Taika Waititi’s announced-but-mysterious project is still in developing. Waititi is possibly planning to star, as well.

This will mark The Punisher’s introduction, officially, into the larger MCU. Bernthal originally played the character in “Marvel’s The Punisher,” which was created for Netflix as part of a larger deal including other Defenders characters. (The additional series included “Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” and “Marvel’s The Defenders.”)

We are very sad to report HBO’s “Barry” is ending. Season 4 is due out next month, and it will reportedly be the last. Series star (also co-creator, writer, and director) Bill Hader confirmed the news this morning. But it isn’t all tears for the assassin-turned-actor-turned-assassin, as there was ALSO a teaser released. Hader directed every episode of season 4, no small fete. “It’s kind of an ongoing goodbye right now. I mean, we’re all friends.  You know, it’s weird: Like, you say goodbye, and then people come in to do ADR. I’m gonna see Stephen and Henry tomorrow at ADR.…

Remember how Elon Musk toyed with the idea of rolling out a subscription service (a paid service, mind you) for Twitter users? Yeah. The deployment of that was actually pushed back, from mid February til apparently this morning. So far, there has been no official comment from Musk or Twitter about the rollout or current issue. We’ll let you know what we hear. Even hyperlinks to the official development team docs aren’t currently working. Tweet embeds and photo uploading are…
