Frank was a mainstay in the convention scene; hosting costume contests, martial arts workshops, and in general, a pretty cool guy to encounter as a fan. Some news- apparently cameras are rolling on the “Dune” prequel series about the Bene Gesserit sisterhood. Aptly titled “Dune: The Sisterhood,” the show is set in a timeline several thousands of years before the saga of Paul Atreides.Johan Renck, who is directing the first two episodes of the series, shared the filming news on Instagram. The House of Mouse will see another changing of the guard with former CEO Bob Iger returning to the position, effective immediately. Chairman of the Board Susan Arnold made the news public November 20th with a statement. Iger will return for a contracted term of two years, ousting Bob Chapek, who took over for Iger in 2020. Chapek has been a largely polarizing figure. Some die-hard Disney fans went so far as to launch a petition to fire him in 2021, and are now claiming victory for yesterday’s news. Sounds like the Spider-Man adjacent “Silk” project about the Marvel Comics character is finally moving forward again. After first being announced back in 2018, the project evolved from a film to a tv series. Turns out Angela Kang, showrunner for “The Walking Dead,” is taking over “Silk.” It will apparently begin filming soon, and will air on MGM+. First of all, what the heck is MGM+? It is what used to be EPIX, apparently. And while “Silk” will air first there, it will eventually hit Amazon after that. Considering Kang just signed a multi-year deal with Amazon, this makes sense.…
