No one expected the “Resident Evil” film franchise to get rebooted mere months after it’s final chapter released in theaters. But it happened. Not only did it happen with a theatrically-released film, but streaming giant Netflix swooped in to do some series as well. There was the “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” anime, and coming later this year, a live-action series.Lance Reddick leads the cast, which also includes Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nunez. “Resident Evil” the series is reportedly coming to Netflix on July 14th, 2022.

Pixar’s hit animated “Cars” films are pretty great. Enjoyable, humorous, celebrations of fast vehicles- all good things. Imagine our delight at learning Pixar and Porsche are teaming up to build a real life “Cars” character!Sally, voiced by Bonnie Hunt, is a sleek Porsche Carrera in the films.  The luxury car brand is currently in process of building a 992 Porsche 911 styled exactly like Sally. She’ll be street legal, and gorgeous. Maybe this isn’t the biggest or most important news, but Netflix is bringing back a show with ties to the current unlawful Russian invasion of Ukraine. Specifically, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “Servant of the People.” It’s an interesting choice, to be sure. But it’s also timely. It still seems strange that out of all the other Spider-Man characters Sony Pictures has access to, they’d pick Madame Web for a solo film. Especially considering she’d be the first female character to get the honor. Announced earlier this year, Dakota Johnson will star as the iconic character in a film directed by S.J. Clarkson. This just in- Alexandra Daddario (“White Lotus,” “Why Women Kill”) has been cast to take on the role of Anne Rice’s character Rowan Mayfair. Hailing from The Mayfair Witches stories, Rowan is a gifted surgeon, as well as a powerful witch unaware of her family history. AMC greenlit the series mere days before Rice passed away in 2021. Never did we think PETA would give advice to gamers. Like….seriously? PETA? Telling people what they should and should not be doing while playing “Elden Ring?” Must be one of those final seals shattering or something. Shocking no one, all the things are animal-related.1.) Marvel Studios, pinnacle of superhero films, have taken a very public stand. Following a month of discourse around parent company Disney’s political contributions, the entertainment giant has their own statement. Namely, Disney has come under fire for their large financial contributions to lawmakers who wrote, sponsored and support Florida’s nefarious “Don’t Say Gay’ bill, as well as voter suppression laws and other hot topic issues. Disney CEO Bob Chapek has since offered an apology of sorts, but, it hasn’t really helped members of the community who feel unsupported by Disney.
