Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Kinda like “Harry Potter” and that mysterious author who we’d rather not name. But one things’ for certain, the cultural impact of the Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring “Buffy” is still felt today. While speaking with author Evan Ross Katz about their new book “Into Every Generation A Slayer Is Born,” Gellar answered the almost ever-present question- if “Buffy” to were to get rebooted, who would she want to see as the Slayer?“I vote Zendaya,” Gellar answered.…

Maybe this isn’t the biggest or most important news, but Netflix is bringing back a show with ties to the current unlawful Russian invasion of Ukraine. Specifically, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “Servant of the People.” It’s an interesting choice, to be sure. But it’s also timely. Maybe this is Netflix’s attempt to help Americans better know who Zelensky is? “The series is a comedy but also an important document of where Zelensky comes from,” Nicola Söderlund of Eccho who licenses the series, said. “His fictional president is a normal man, who grows into his role as a heroic and adored…

It still seems strange that out of all the other Spider-Man characters Sony Pictures has access to, they’d pick Madame Web for a solo film. Especially considering she’d be the first female character to get the honor. Announced earlier this year, Dakota Johnson will star as the iconic character in a film directed by S.J. Clarkson. This just in- Alexandra Daddario (“White Lotus,” “Why Women Kill”) has been cast to take on the role of Anne Rice’s character Rowan Mayfair. Hailing from The Mayfair Witches stories, Rowan is a gifted surgeon, as well as a powerful witch unaware of her family history. AMC greenlit the series mere days before Rice passed away in 2021. On a personal note, I freaking love the Mayfair Witches, and am delighted we’re getting the show. Daddario is fantastic, but I’m not sure how I feel about her as Rowan. The character is meant to be severe (ok, Daddario has that…

Sounds like filmmaker James Gunn is getting animated! True, we have his “Guardians of the Galaxy” Christmas special to look forward to on Disney+, but we’re talking about something DC Comics-related. Why, himself, naturally. “Harley Quinn” features Kaley Cuoco as Harley, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Cheryl, and Barbara, Alan Tudyk as Joker, Clayface, Calendar Man, Doctor Trap, and Condiment…

Never did we think PETA would give advice to gamers. Like….seriously? PETA? Telling people what they should and should not be doing while playing “Elden Ring?” Must be one of those final seals shattering or something. Shocking no one, all the things are animal-related.1.) Take your dogs for a lovely walk around the week. 2.) Persuade mercenaries not to exploit horses.3.) Observe wildlife from a safe and respectful distance.4.) Check out an animal sanctuary.5.)
