Chris Columbus (“Home Alone,” “Harry Potter”), who wrote the original film which was directed by Joe Dante, will direct. Columbus will also exec produce alongside Steven Spielberg. This just in- Legendary Pictures is tapping into another classic science fiction franchise for a whole new audience. According to reports, the studio is eyeing the return of space hero Buck Rogers. Zeb Wells, who wrote the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ flick “Deadpool VS Wolverine,” is penning the script for a “Buck Rogers” film. The character was first introduced in 1928 in “Armageddon 2419 A.D.,” a novella by Philip Francis Nowlan. Two bits of news from the world of “Doctor Who.” The first isn’t great, but has a silver lining. The second is more of a positive note, but won’t make you forget the first thing. Disney+ is ending their official partnership with long-running science fiction children’s series “Doctor Who” after the premiere of spinoff “The War Between the Land and the Sea.” BUT, following that, the BBC will pick up the franchise again.
