This just in-it would appear that HBO has renewed hit series “The White Lotus” for a fourth season ahead of season 3 premiering. The multi-award-winning series is the creation of Mike White. Well, we’re once again scratching our heads at decisions being made by Academy leadership regarding the Oscars. While we’re STILL WAITING for a Stunts category, another big change is coming to the 2025 Academy Awards Oscars ceremony. While we were hard on Prime Video’s adaptation of “The Wheel of Time,” we’re willing to give the high fantasy series one more chance. We are VERY excited to share the news that “Nosferatu” helmer Robert Eggers has announced his followup project. It’s another classic and iconic monster, a creature of the night. No, not another vampire. Instead, this project will be called “WEREWULF.”Eggers wrote the script along with his “The Northman” collaborator, Icelandic poet Sjón. It will reportedly take place in 13th century England, with dialogue true to the time period. Maybe it wasn’t your biggest Marvel Studios question going into 2025, but, what about more Benedict Cumberbatch and Doctor Steven Strange? According to the actor, it won’t be happening during “Avengers Doomsday.” BUT, but, a third Sorcerer Supreme solo film may be in the cards after that. We don’t *always* cover casting rumors, but, this is one we’re semi interested in? According to the usual suspects, it sounds like Ryan Gosling may be in some form of discussions to join a “Star Wars” project. Specifically, a film from Shawn Levy, who helmed Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine.” What’s interesting here is that Gosling wrapped on a pretty big sci-fi film recently. Based on Andy Weir’s (“The Martian”) third novel, “Project Hail Mary” completed filming in November of 2024. In a statement posted to the highly contested social media platform’s X (formerly Twitter) account, ByteDance-owned TikTok claims they are “in the process of restoring service” for users in the United States. It is with the heaviest of hearts we share the news of the passing of the great David Lynch. From his 1977 first film “Eraserhead,” Lynch embarked on a string of strange, thought-provoking projects. “The Elephant Man,” “Blue Velvet,” “Twin Peaks,” “Mullholland Drive,” “Lost Highway,” and of course our favorite, “Dune” (1984). After what feels like forever, we finally have our official first look at the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Perhaps the most important bit of information confirmed was that the 2 will be backward compatible with physical and digital games for the original Switch. A Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2 is planned for April 2nd, 2025. There was also a new launch trailer for the upcoming title “Donkey Kong Country Returns,” which is due out January 16th, 2025. And, in usual Nintendo fashion, the Switch 2 will be getting what looks like a new Mario Kart title.
