Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

In a move Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger calls the House of Mouse’s “biggest foray into the game space ever,” Epic Games is about to get one hell of an investment. We’re talking to the tune of $1.5 billion for the makers of “Fortnite.” “We’ve entered into a strategic relationship with Epic Games, the maker of ‘Fortnite’ to not only invest in the company — [Disney] took a minority stake of $1.5 billion investment — but we’re also creating a huge Disney universe that will be for gaming and for play and for watching and even for shopping for…

Ahead of today’s quarterly earnings call for Disney shareholders, CEO Bob Iger did what he does best, and announced some plans for the House of Mouse. While visiting CNBC, Iger dropped a pretty big piece of news.Chief among these (that we weren’t expecting) was news of that animated “Moana” spinoff series on Disney+ getting changed to a sequel feature film. “Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise,” Iger said. “And we can’t wait to give you more of Moana and Maui when Moana 2 comes to theaters this November.”Directed by Dave Derrick Jr. with music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear,…

It’s pretty great so see a performer who really enjoys their work. Even better is when it’s someone like Ewan McGregor, who OBVIOUSLY loves his character from a little independent film series called “Star Wars.” Obviously McGregor didn’t join the galaxy far, far away until the divisive prequels, debuting as the Jedi Master in “Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace.” But since then, 25 FREAKING YEARS AGO, he’s been able to revisit the part in Disney+’s series, “Obi Wan Kenobi.”And you know what? He, like many of us, WANTS MORE. Originally billed as a “limited series,” the project was…

The first trailer for the prequel to John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place” finally has a trailer. Starring Lupita Nyong’O, Djimon Hounsou, Joseph Quinn, Dennis O’Hare, and Alex Wolf, the trailer shows what happened on day 1 of the alien invasion we see the results of in the other two films. Michael Sarnoski directs from a script he wrote with Krasinski, and Bryan Woods. The story has been a closely guarded secret, so we don’t really expect any big plot points to be released ahead of the premiere. “A Quiet Place: Day One” hits theaters June 28th, 2024. You can check…

We need to take a minute to ask, out loud, what the absolute hell. Actress Gina Carano, who was fired from “Star Wars” spinoff series “The Mandalorian,” is filing suit against Disney and Lucasfilm for discrimination and wrongful termination. It’s worth noting that the Walt Disney Company is located in both California and Florida, two “at will employment” states, which means they do not need to publicly disclose the reason for firing an employee. Carano has maintained she was fired for voicing her conservative political views, when in fact, it was due to her reposting/uploading multiple videos and messages from…

While many jumped to conclusions about what Tom Holland’s big announcement was going to be today, this isn’t what we were expecting. Instead of the “Spider-Man 4” or “Fantastic Four” news some outlets claimed was coming, we get a little theater news. Holland will apparently lead a new revival of “Romeo & Juliet” being developed (and directed) by Jamie Lloyd. It’s being described as a “pulsating new vision of Shakespeare’s immortal tale of wordsmiths, rhymers, lovers and fighters.” Lloyd’s other theatrical credits include “Sunset Boulevard” starring Nicole Scherzinger, “A Doll’s House” starring Jessica Chastain, and “Betrayal” starring Tom Hiddleston. This is a big…
