Marvel Studios’ upcoming “WandaVision” spinoff series has a new name. When first announced, the Disney+ show was originally titled “Agatha: House of Harkness.” It was later renamed “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” in July 2022. The recent trend of public domain children’s stories being turned into horror movies was bound to cause some confusion. Well, the inevitable happened and a class of 4th graders was shown “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.” Despite it containing a beloved character from many of our childhoods, this is not a family-oriented film. Earlier this week, SAG-AFTRA issued guidelines on Halloween costumes for guild members to stay compliant with the ongoing strike. These guidelines basically barred members dressing as anything from struck work, making it so most live-action movie characters were off-limits. The graphic they issued offered generic costume idea suggestions like “ghost, zombie, or spider.” Or going out trick or treating as animated TV show characters, since animation is a separate contract and not currently struck. Legendary writer/director/producer/composer John Carpenter (“Halloween”) needs help. He’s asking for donations to the Geroge A. Romero Foundation (GARF). An organization dedicated to honoring the life work and cultural influence of the late writer/director/producer George A. Romero (“Night of The Living Dead”). The organization mostly focuses on supporting the next generation of filmmakers and artists inspired by his legacy. In the Instagram Reel is delivered in Carpenter’s signature, straightforward style. Director Renny Harlin will be heading up the next films for “The Strangers” franchise. But he is teasing that there may be more installments than just the planned trilogy. The Universe is based on the 2008 film “The Strangers” directed by Bryan Bertino, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. Striking while the iron is still hot a sequel to “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” is already underway. Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield recently gave an interview talking about the film’s increase in budget. Actor Gerard Butler has reached a settlement in his lawsuit regarding claims he’s owed approximately $10 million in profits from 2013’s “Olympus Has Fallen,” and it’s subsequent sequels. Specifics on the settlement have not been disclosed at this time.  But defendants Nu Image and Millennium Media notified the court of a settlement, that requires the completion of some terms within 45 days.  The lawsuit was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court in 2021 by Butler and his production company, G-Base Entertainment. Prime Video’s upcoming animated “The Wheel of Time” spinoff feature film “The White Tower” has named their director. Back in June, a possible collaboration between nuMetal band Korn and shoemaker Adidas was rumored. Well, the two just finally, officially announced the joint collection. Everything has come full circle. The rockers will work with the sportswear brand on an official licensed clothing and shoe line.
