Is the English rock band Oasis reuniting after officially splitting up in 2009? All signs are pointing to definitely!
The band’s founders and famously feuding siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher have seemingly confirmed the news via posts on X (formally Twitter). On August 25th, both brothers and the band’s official page posted a short video displaying a sign with the date “27.08.24.” The sign then changes to read “8am.” Oasis’ official website displays the same date and time.
These posts happened after a rumor about the band playing in the U.K. in 2025, including a 10-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, caught on. A rumor Liam was all too happy to fuel, posting “I never did like that word FORMER,” a few hours before the video.
When a commenter complained that Heaton Park in Manchester, is a “terrible venue” for Oasis to play. Liam replied; “See you down the front you big fanny.”
Previous Oasis Reunion Rumors
Now we know the Gallaghers can have a wicked sense of humor and often like to tease their fans. However, in April a similar rumor sparked around the band being nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Had they been inducted, it could have meant the brothers Gallagher being in the same room together.
“Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” Liam wrote on X at the time. Later posting “The little fella loves hanging out with celebrities so he’d prob go; as for me I’m washing my hair and having a pedicure and a manicure,” about Noel. As you can see, there is a clear difference in his reaction to the rumblings of a reunion this time around.
We should know what’s up by 8 am tomorrow. A new reissue of Oasis‘ debut studio album “Definitely Maybe” hits shelves on August 30th, you can pre-order it here. Anyway here’s Wonderwall:
