Hi, I’m Amy. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

“Harry Potter” author and outspoken transphobe (TERF) J.K. Rowling is at it again. This time, she is speaking out against Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, who portrayed Harry Potter and Hermione Granger in the film adaptations.  On April 10th, Rowling made a series of posts to X (formerly Twitter) about a recent independent review “of the medical evidence for transitioning children.” The author has previously come under fire several times for her anti-trans rhetoric. By contrast, Radcliffe and Watson have always been outspoken in their support of the LGBTQ community. But definitely moreso in the recent years following Rowling’s disappointing stance.…

The decision to cast Cate Blanchett as Lilith in Eli Roth’s film adaption of the video game “Borderlands” was polarizing. Some fans hate the idea, others are curious, and even more just seem downright confused.   Blanchett is no stranger to big-budget blockbusters having starred in Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, and “Indiana Jones in The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.” But the actress is mostly known more for her dramatic character studies. Like playing Lydia Tár in “TÁR,” Jasmine in “Blue Jasmine,” or starring as the titular character in “Carol.” So her casting in Roth’s action-packed sci-fi…
