We have an update about the ongoing lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discory Television over its “ER”-style medical drama “The Pitt.” Last year, Max ordered 15 episodes of the series starring Noah Wyle and created by John Wells and R. Scott Gemmill. The show is intended to be “a realistic examination of the challenges facing health care workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the front-line heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.” However, “The Pitt” got Warner Bros. Discovery slapped with a lawsuit against it, Wyle, Wells, and Gemmill. The suit alleges that the new series…

It’s been at least a few months since we’ve had a really intense performance from Nicolas Cage (“Longlegs”). Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions are here to fill that void with their new psychological thriller “The Surfer.” The companies just released the first trailer and poster for the film (see below). “The Surfer” is directed by Lorcan Finnegan (“Vivarium”) from a script by Thomas Martin (“White Widow”). It centers around a man (Cage) returning to his hometown in Australia with his son. Of course, the first thing he wants to do is re-visit the beach he grew up around. However, a group…
A24’s live-action “Barney” movie has found its writer, and possibly its star in Emmy-winner Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”). This adaptation of the beloved children’s show is being co-developed and produced by A24, Daniel Kaluuya’s 59% Productions, and IP owner Mattel Films. Despite Kaluuya being a lead producer on the film, at this time it seems he will not be starring in it. The studios have confirmed that Edebiri is penning the screenplay for “Barney” and is in talks to star as well. However, at this time, plot details are being kept under wraps. Producers for the project include Kevin McKeon…
In the “Star Trek” universe, William Shatner’s iconic character James T. Kirk said goodbye in “Star Trek Generations.” But that doesn’t mean franchise creatives haven’t tried to bring him back. Over the decades, Shatner has been asked to come back countless times, and has either declined or the project didn’t pan out. The closest we’ve come is the actor approving the use of his likeness in Roddenberry Archive’s touching short film “Unification.” Now it seems the 93-year-old actor may return to the final frontier as Kirk after all. Over the weekend, Shatner was a guest at Fan Expo Vancouver. During…
Did you know it was DC Comic villain Lex Luthor’s 85 anniversary? Thankfully, “Superman” filmmaker James Gunn remembered. He was even kind enough to gift fans a new behind-the-scenes photo of Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men”) for the occasion. “In celebration of the 85th anniversary of Lex Luthor here’s an exclusive photo of Nicholas Hoult as Lex in our upcoming movie, Superman,” Gunn captioned the image. He credited the photo to “Superman” VFX supervisor Stephane Ceretti. This image shows Hoult on set in a nice suit, staring intently at something off-camera. Lex debuted in Action Comics #23 in 1940 and has become…

There has been a new development in the Menendez brothers’ ongoing quest to have their life sentences reevaluated. In 1996, Erik and Lyle Menendez were convicted of murdering their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez. The siblings were accused of committing this heinous crime as a way to get their parents’ money. Erik and Lyle contend that they believed it was their only way to escape an abusive household. The Menendez brothers have a resentencing hearing coming up next month that has been repeatedly rescheduled. Now the Los Angeles County District Attorney (DA) says the siblings have created “a continuum of…
We’re back with another edition of Urban Legend: Fact or Fiction. In this chapter, we are going to find out if gangs use flashing car headlights in their initiations. So buckle up and enjoy this decades-long ride. The Story “please dont flash your headlights at any car with no headlights on,” reads the email your great aunt sent with far too many RE:s in the subject line. “Police officers is working with the DARE program and has issued this warning! if you are driving after dark and see a on-coming car with no headlights on, “do not flash your headlights…

The new sweet treat blends Milk Bar’s iconic birthday cake flavor with a Taco Bell twist. It comes in a single serving or a bundle of two to share (or eat both, we don’t judge here). These birthday cake churros are served warm with a crispy outer layer filled with birthday cake frosting. This is all topped with bright pink confetti sprinkles, because what’s a birthday without sprinkles? Inspired by the traditional Mexican dessert,…
