Tech accessory company CASETiFY is launching a new line inspired by the beloved anime “Evangelion.” The product line has been dubbed PROJECT-CSTF: PROTECTION from IMPACT. It blends iconic logos and scenes from the impact events in “Evangelion” with CASETiFY’s legendary impact-resistant designs. (We see what you did there.) Los Angeles teen Karla Torres has made it to the final round of Duct Tape’s 23rd Annual Stuck at Prom contest. High school students from across the country build elaborate formalwear out of the utility tape. Duct Tape then reviews the hundreds of entries before narrowing it down to the top 10. Contestants are rated on their use of color, craftsmanship, originality, and accessories for their crafty duds. The grand prizes are in two different categories for $10,000 each in scholarship money. Director/producer/showrunner/writer Ryan Murphy sent a letter to the Writers Guild of America (WGA), threatening litigation against East Coast strike captain Warren Leight. Leight was a member of the Strike Rules Compliance Committee, but has since left both positions. The issue started on June 21st, when Leight claimed crewmembers for the Murphy created “American Horror Story” told him “they’ll be blackballed in Murphy-land” if they don’t cross the WGA picket lines. A spokesperson for Murphy called this allegation “absolute nonsense,” and “categorically false.”   A letter was sent to the WGA by Murphy’s attorney Craig Emanuel about the issue. For years, the Birdsville Big Red Bash in Queensland, Australia hosts a very special gathering. They do a massive line dance to Tina Turner’s largely autobiographical song, “Nutbush City Limits.” This line dance is so huge, it set a world record in with 4,084 participants back in 2022. To honor the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll, who passed on May 24th at the age of 83, they decided to smash their own record. Prime Video has released an official trailer for original series “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart,” starring Sigourney Weaver. The new series is based on Holly Ringland’s 2018 debut novel of the same name. The novel tells the story of Alice Hart’s family and their dynamics while living in the Australian outback. As the dumpster fire around YouTuber Colleen Ballinger continues to burn, a newly resurfaced video is throwing some extra fuel onto it. Ballinger, better known as Miranda Sings, performed Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” several years ago, but that’s not the controversial part. The problem, in a nutshell, is she did it in what appears to be blackface. While it is unclear when the video was taken, it’s possibly from a show in London’s West End around the summer of 2010. Sadly, one of the homes built for Tim Burton’s 2003 fantasy drama “Big Fish” has burnt down. For the film, several homes were erected to create the fictitious town of Spectre. This is the quant place Edward Bloom (Ewan McGregor) stumbles upon within a haunted forest. When he returns years later, he finds Spectre has fallen into despair, and must be helped.  After filming for “Big Fish” was completed, the town was abandoned on Jackson Lake Island, a private island located in Elmore County, Alabama. The cast and crew of the animated show “Phineas and Ferb” got stuck on a Disneyland ride, during an outing. But the show’s co-creator Dan Povenmire had a hilarious response to it in a now-viral TikTok. On June 26th, Povenmire and other members of the “Phineas and Ferb” cast and crew spent the day at Disneyland. Barbie isn’t the only Mattel property getting developed into a movie. The toymaker revealed there are a total of 45 Mattel-related projects currently in the works. One those we already knew about, the eventually cancelled “UNO” film. Screenwriter Marcy Kelly recently shared some serious intel on what the WILD plot would’ve been.
