Oscar winner Denzel Washington will be playing the ancient Carthaginian general Hannibal in an untitled epic film for Netflix. Antoine Fuqua will direct, from a script by three-time Oscar-nominate John Logan (“Gladiator”). Fuqua previously worked with Washington on 2001’s “Training Day” and “The Equalizer” trilogy. The historic figure Hannibal is known for crossing the Alps using elephants to attack Rome, cementing his status as the greatest threat to the republic at the time. Cultural icon Lynda Carter has released an inspiring new song called “Rise Up.” Carter is best known for playing the titular superhero in the 1980s live-action series “Wonder Woman.” But she has been releasing music since the late 1970s.  On November 10th, Carter posted “Rise Up” on Instagram accompanied by an illustration of her by artist Sanna Legan. Upcoming documentary “Hollywood Trailblazer: The Debra Hill Story” from Causeway Pictures has started production. An escaped circus lion was captured after roaming the heavily populated streets of a suburb of Rome on November 11th. The mayor of the town of Ladispoli, Alessandro Grando, confirmed the video on Facebook just before 10:30 PM (4:30 PM ET), only a few hours after the escape happened. The effort to capture 8-year-old lion Kimba was a joint effort between Italy’s state police, local police, the Carabinieri military police force, and local volunteers. As a part of Netflix’s GeekedWeek, the streamer has released a teaser for the upcoming “Dead Boy Detectives” series. The show is based on the Vertigo comics by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. Specifically, a wildfire report concerning long-running Fox animated comedy series “The Simpsons,” and the possibility of Homer no longer strangling Bart. Well, co-creator and producer James L. Netflix is bringing the “Terminator” franchise back online with “Terminator: The Anime Series.”  While announced back in 2021, the streamer just released the first teaser as a part of GeekedWeek. Three weeks ago, an undersea volcano began to erupt off the coast of Japan. These eruptions have produced enough volcanic rocks to form a small, probably temporary, island. However, this volcanic activity also provides scientists with a rare view of the birth of a new island. This unnamed undersea volcano is located about half a mile off the southern coast of Iwo Jima (Ioto). It began this series of eruptions on October 21st. Some projects continued under interim agreements, which meant the studios making them followed fair contracts with both unions.
