When the “Community” movie was first announced, many fans noticed series staples Chevy Chase (Pierce), Donald Glover (Troy), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) were missing from the cast. The upcoming tv series based on popular children’s book series “Goosebumps” just got a new star. The original series consisted of 62 books penned by R.L. Stine, but that number skyrockets to 200 books when you count in spin-offs like “Goosebumps HorrorLand,” all of which are published by Scholastic Publishing. Justin Long (“Tusk,” “Jeepers Creepers”) will star in Disney+’s live-action adaptation! Each book tells a different tale of children finding themselves in different spooky but age-appropriate situations. Adidas is releasing a new line of shoes based on the popular manga, anime, and card game Yu-Gi-Oh!. The line of men’s shoes consists of 4 styles in total, 2 types of slides, and 2 types of sneakers. All of the footwear is heavily influenced by the fashions of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Which is when Yu-Gi-Oh!’s popularity really took off in the United States. Jamie Lee Curtis wants to do a “Freaky Friday” sequel with Lindsay Lohan. The 2003 version of the film where Curtis and Lohan play a mother and daughter who switch bodies with the help of some ancient magic. “Freaky Friday” had a previous film in 1976, starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster. “Desierto” director Jonás Cuarón has officially signed on to Sony Pictures upcoming film, “El Muerto.” A film adaptation of the Marvel Comics title of the same name, Cuarón will work alongside Grammy Award-winning recording artist Bad Bunny (Benito A Martínez Ocasio). Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (“Blue Beetle”) is attached to write the script. This will be the first Latino character to lead a Marvel Comics-based film, helping break down yet another barrier to more diversity in comic book movies. On October 21st, 2021 on the set of the film “Rust,” actor Alec Baldwin discharged a Colt .45 prop revolver. Assistant director David Halls had assured Baldwin, who is also a producer on the film, the weapon was “cold.” Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the bullet struck and killed Halyna Hutchins, cinematographer. The shot also hit director Joel Souza, seriously injuring him.
