In 2025, filmmaker Eli Roth launched the media company The Horror Section, and is set to direct his first movie under the new banner, Ice Cream Man. The Horror Section also recently formed a partnership with Mass Appeal, an entertainment company founded by Grammy-winning rapper Nas.

While there are no specific figures on the deal publicly available. The partnership will include an investment from Mass Appeal into The Horror Section. Alongside, Roth and Nas co-develop film and television projects.

Kicking off with Nas and Mass Appeal CEO Peter Bittenbender coming on to executive produce Ice Cream Man.

“Nas is one of the most influential storytellers and cultural voices of all time and we bonded instantly over our mutual love of horror,” said Roth in a statement. “We are thrilled to partner with Mass Appeal with its unmatched pulse on culture and what truly resonates. I look forward to collaborating with Nas, Peter, and the entire Mass Appeal team, starting with bringing ‘Ice Cream Man’ to theaters worldwide and creating cultural events in the horror space for audiences everywhere.”

“I’m proud to come together and partner with Eli to bring these films to life and push the boundaries of what horror can be, both culturally and creatively,” said Nas in a statement. “Eli and I shared the same vision from the beginning and partnering with him and The Horror Section feels natural. I’m excited to take the genre in an exciting new direction, and ‘Ice Cream Man’ is just the beginning.”

Ice Cream Man is set in an idyllic summer town. Well, that is, until it descends into madness when the local ice cream vendor starts serving sweets with horrifying results. It stars Roth, Ari Millen (Orphan Black), Benjamin Byron Davis (Red Dead Redemption), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), and Dylan Hawco (Heartland). Sarah Abbott (Sheriff Country), Shiloh O’Reilly (Doc), and Kiori Mirza Waldman (Small Achievable Goals) also star. Alongside Charlie Zeltzer (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Charlie Storey (A Breed Apart).

The film will hit theaters later this year. We’ll keep you posted on updates about Ice Cream Manas the project devlops.
